Ive just watched several videos on the BenQ PD3220U. In most of these reviews, people simply regurgitated the specs. No statements like "why do you need a professional monitor". You brief explanation of the advantages of a Quadro or Radeon Pro card was quite helpful. In short, this was a very helpful and insightful review. Thank you!

How is the contrast? Is it good enough? 1000:1 seems low

Hi, I have a really stupid question. I'm working a great deal in CGI. That means Unreal, Blender, and so forth... but also I do some video and graphic editing. For me it goes altogether. I'm impressed by the good looks of the PD3220U and consider byuing one. It seems to have just the nice display I wish to have working with. But I'm always not sure if I need to settle on a gaming monitor like the BenQ EX3210U. I know the main differences is in the refreshRate, like in gaming you need the 120 or more. But since I'm not a gamer myself, just working on landscapes in Unreal Engine and 3D Assets in Blender, I wonder if the PD3220u with the 60 refresh rate is the better choice, especially regrading colors. I'd really love to hear your or somebodys opinion and recommendation on that. As far as I know now, in the near future, manufacturers will combine these two traits into one monitor. Peace

Will the AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB on the 2019 MacBook Pro be able to properly display 10 bit HDR?

I appreciate your review but no mention of contrast ratio. I'm not sure if its your edit, but the colors look really washed out and the blacks look gray. I'm used to the iMac 5K display so contrast ratio is my main concern

Hi Hugo, really great review one of the best. I learn programming front end web development but also I like to have a good color accuracy. I am not a gaming person just using play station from time to time. What do you think about reading a tex for a long hours a day - lots of programming documentations etc, and also what's about multitasks - opened code editors, pages, figma => what do you think about this monitor for programming or maybe you can recommend another one? thanks :D

Hi Hugo, great review & loved your other reviews - high quality! I'm also in the Mac Pro group, and was wondering if this was the monitor that was not outputting 10-bit for some reason (?). I'm looking to pair a monitor with a MP soon...Thx again for sharing your thoughts on this monitor. Looks like a great value!

Thanks so much for watching. It was the BenQ SW321C but it was solved now with a firmware.

What's the difference between the BenQ PD3220U BenQ PD2700U?? Other than the screen size.. Thanks.

Those are two different generations of monitors. If you mean the PD2720U however the difference is slimmer - however, things such as contrast ratio and power delivered over USB-C is notable

Hi! great review! One question, do you know how to disable the lables or the text names when using Dual View (srgb, animation, etc) , I really like working with two different color modes but the indicators are a bit too big for me and it is annoying. Thanks!

And now you don't need quadro because Studio Drivers support 30bit

I am confused why would one want more expensive PV3200PT vs PD3220U - if I get it both have 100% rec709? Also PV does not have 100% SRGB? The only thing that is different is LUT and 24p support on the PV? Do you think 300 eur difference is woth for PV? Also PV does not suppor 60p from HDMI and that is unfortunate if I want to go HDMI out from blackmagic cards in DaVinci?

Great Video! 👍😎 Does the monitor have any fans inside? Is it noiseless? Greetz from Switzerland

Wold have loved it if it allowed volume and brightness to be controlled by the Mac, so instead of having to reach for the puck, I could carry on doing so with my keyboard. Perhaps one of the only downsides in my opinion

Great products, however BenQ UK lack customer service, I'm a professional and use monitors on a daily basis for work, and can't be without one for to long. Recently had a RMA on a monitor, the repair center has no parts, phoned cusotmer services, they mentioned a replacement monitor, no stock idea of stock, said they will email me, still waiting.

Your review would be so much better if you got rid of the annoying background music. It's almost impossible to listen to what you are saying with the annoying music. Such a shame.
