50ms input lag is bad. That is 3 frames at 60hz. For gaming get a projector that is designed for gaming

Hello. May I ask if the rainbow effect is visible all the time or only over stand-out bright elements as claimed by many review I have read so far? I have also read that the image has a strong nuance/shade of red. Is that true? Thanks a lot.

+Nikolay Kyosev I'll help you out with the rainbow effect. I have the W1070 which uses the same 6-Segment (RGBRGB) as the W2000. Those many reviewers are correct in seeing the rainbow effect on bright/white elements in the image. However, I can only speak for myself, I have to try very hard to see it. Such as, darting my eyes back and forth real fast or shaking my head back and forth again real fast also if I turn my head to speak to someone sitting next to me and turn back. Those are the only times I notice the rainbow effect on bright objects. To put this into perspective, I have an acquaintance who has a $12,000 dlp color wheel projector of course it's an older model think around 2006-2007 and I forget the name of projector but it wasn't a Benq. It took very little on my part to see the rainbow effect all I had to do was shift a little while sitting and there it was rainbows. Also, keep in mind, this W2000 has a response time of 50ms, The w1070 has a response time of 30ms which is a lot better for serious gaming. Which was the main reason I chose the w1070 along with the much lower price from the newer models.

I live in Malta and there is no demo/show room where to see the device's performance and I would hate buying it blindly from the internet. May I also ask if you use your projector to watch true blu-ray movies at 24p or just from your PC and if so is the rainbow effect more visible when the source is a true blu-ray movie? (I am not planning to use it for games) Thanks.

I have a 3d blu ray player and I've watched both 3d blu-ray and standard blu-ray movies. I haven't noticed any significant rainbow effect no matter the fps other than as I have stated in my previous comment. Remember though, everyone is different in their sensitivity to that rainbow effect.

You're welcome and glad to be of help. Can get rather overwhelming researching these projectors. I also meant to touch upon the other question "strong nuance/shade of red" All these projectors have their quirks with that. Think my W1070 is tilted more towards the green end out of the box but that's what I read. The only time I've seen a green hue was on one of the predefined options. I use cinema mode and the image right out of the box, without calibrating the color, is pretty awesome. You gotta be careful with some of these reviews as they are written by videophiles using $1000+ color calibration/detection devices and use that to get the colors to near reference qualities. Most of us average Joe's would never notice the difference. Though there is a red hue on the screen when watching a 3D movie without the 3D glasses. Depending on the quality of the 3D glasses since some cheaply made 3D glasses some people have noticed the slight reddish tint, you'll never see it unless you take the glasses off.
