Got the XL2546S myself, the panel is great (can't say much for the stand as this was released before the 2546K - the same panel with new stand). Once tuned correctly, it's colors aren't too far off either.

I got this and the log 180hz 1440p for more detailed adventure type games as well as video editing and movies by far the best combo for like 250 more than a aw2721d

I hope they bring the 240hz or 360hz to the mobiuz series of BenQ, they also have backlight strobing (which makes DyAc great) and finally we could get something competitive on IPS panels, got the XL2546 and I wouldn’t trade it for the IPS 360hz from Alienware Asus and Acer (reviews on Bijam Jamshidi’s channel). @@kirin_v2 no definitely not, just the system integrated to the screen (OSD) that is a bit evolved but you have the same functions except the online profile (which you can imitate anyways). The 0.5ms vs 1ms is unnoticeable. Only real upgrade is the XL2566K but I would wait for a bigger difference if you aren’t a pro, 360hz tn is just slightly better, I’d wait for the new OLED/miniled/amoled in 27-4k-500+hz, should be between 2023 and 2025 based on their roadmap (amoled)

I just bought this monitor and i've been playing on an xbox series x at 120hz. When I turn on Dyac+, it seems to do the opposite of what is advertised. It seems to create ghosting when I turn it on. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I just can't do 24in for BRs like Warzone or milsim like Tarkov. Targets are too small if you increase the FOV. And if you keep it at a comfortable level then you have to deal with constantly zigzagging to scan your environment to get any sense of awareness in Warzome. On Tarkov, it's just not enough info. Pubg has independent look and apex is just another level of speed so in those instances perhaps it makes more sense.

Pros have a small monitor so they see everything all at once yet proceed to sit as close as possible to the screen so they have to move their head anyway lol

I wonder if we'll start to see a shift in preference as modern hardware and newer games come out. Esports have always been a big part of my life. I've played off and on in the competitive CoD scene, used to be a Machinima (rip) KZbinr, and generally find myself gravitating towards competitive games all my life. The one thing I've noticed is that the majority of pros aren't super techy. We tend to see certain norms adopted by everyone because it's just what everyone else did. A good example is that most pros still play on 400dpi from the Counter-Strike Source era. I tell people all the time to go adjust their sensitivity to try out something like 1600dpi and you'll instantly feel how much smoother it is especially in microadjustments. Long intro to say that a while back I switched over to 27" 1440p and can't ever see myself going back. This definitely isn't objectively better like I would argue with certain game settings trends or the DPI thing, but I would definitely recommend it to those who are maybe competitive players, but don't expect to see the stage. Consistency is key if you are playing in LAN tourneys, but for most, I think they will quite enjoy the added visibility and lower strain on the eye. Especially now with BRs being so popular. I would pick 1440p with no AA any day over 1080p with AA when playing a game like Warzone or Apex. Especially now that 1440p 240hz monitors are a thing. I love my Omen X.

Thank you for this thoughtful reply. I am in the market for a new gaming monitor (I have a BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P 24 Inch). I am deciding between this one and the LG 27GP850-B. I have a dual monitor setup these days, with an LG UltraWide on one side and the BenQ on the other. I find more and more that when I’m not gaming, I do default to using the BenQ monitor as a regular monitor and that is what is driving me to consider an IPS panel over a TN panel. Your insights here are definitely helping me think through my decision to make the switch. 🙏🏿

@@jalisamw this definitely depends on how "serious" you are about the gaming use case of your primary monitor. 165hz to 240hz isn't going to be a massive jump, but there is an objective difference between the two and the BenQ will most likely have slightly better movement clarity and smoothness. That said, if I were choosing a monitor for gaming enjoyment as well as competitiveness AND I was using that same panel for multimedia, it's the LG no question. That panel is going to be leagues ahead of the BenQ and it's not even close.

Not a lot of pros use dyac though, or strobing of any kind, and dyac is the main reason to get this over a 240hz IPS and IPS panels aren't that slow. And some people say dyac / strobing increases input lag. Tenz also doesn't use dyac and you mentioned him in this video.

The only IPS panel in this league for latency, would be the 360hz panel. All other IPS would be slower than the TN panels. That makes this monitor better than IPS, regardless of the dyac tech or not

My brother own it and I own an XL2430T (144hz OC to 240hz). From that I can tell you that every preset no longer have his "uninque" color preset (FPS1 for example with the "washed out" yellows) all presets on the K model are based on "Standard" mode. Also it feels to have less input lag and more responsive. I hope it clarify you!

Asus VG258QM and VG259QM is a cheaper (arguably better) alternative to this. 24.5 in, 280 hz with better total response time and ELMB, Asus' version of Dyac, that is arguably better than the BenQ's. Its also $200 less than the BenQ. The 258 is a Tn panel and the 259 is a IPS panel

It's what they are either given, told is good by friends or peers, is what their used to at tourneys, etc... BenQ has been dominating the esports space for a long time and brand awareness is a huge factor.

Not true. I remember this CSGO event where DELL was the main sponsor, they used the AW2518 but pro's refused to use it. So what they did was use Zowie monitors with a custom shell build around it that had the letters DELL ALIENWARE on them.

With a bigger monitor you can just move it slightly further away (if you have the space ofcourse). so IMO 24" inch is not mandatory or anything and I can see just fine my whole 27" 1440p & 240 Hz screen.

What makes you say that modern 360hz IPS has a slower response time than outdated TN? XL2546ks exceptional Motion clarity comes purely from the great implementation of backlight strobing and not from its response times. I personally can't tolerate any kind of backlight strobing even at 280hz but for each its own I guess...

I used this monitor and it was great for CSGO, PUBG, Warzone, and the like. But IPS is the way to go to have some color quality too. I’d recommend the BenQ EX2510.
