Benromach is soo underrated and under the radar distillery. We need to keep it that way so we can still have some sort of normal prices and enjoy their juice. Good review Jason.

Benromach is a Gem even these under 46% expressions. I like almost all of them but any CS is my favourite. CS play with water pretty well, doesnt loose intensity creamines or oiliness. Its lovely stuff. 🤩🥂🙋♂️

Pretty much can't lose with Benromach. Always reminds me of smoked maple syrup. The single casks are the better offerings to me. The Polish Oak. Magical.

I enjoy the 2012 CS, nice rounded sherry with subtle peat, great whisky.

Hi Jason. My favourite Benromach’s are the CS, the bourbon matured peat smoke and the 15. Slàinte Jason 🥃

You couldn't compare it because you know this is the best bottling 65€ can buy :D By the way, my favourite Benromach is the Cask Strength, if it wasn't clear :P

Benromach Cask Strength *is* rare and exotic in nz as the last lot available was 2009 and sold out ~3 years ago. The importer seems to have been sitting on their hands, albeit they say their last order got mixed up so no CS included when it should have been. B15 is my favourite of what I've tried, but I've tried far from everything. The virgin oak air- and kiln-dried experiments were interesting (shop samples) but seemed too pricey. Yet to try but I've read some places claim the B. organic is unpeated? Yes, I saw Roy's reaction to the 2014 so immediately hunted but it's not available in nz: sad. Cautiously grabbed a 2012 to try, or there's also the 2013, or older but more expensive batches/releases. Note that the 2014 performed rather less well a week or two later in Roy's "rugby nations" whisky competition. I've also read claims B. get their peat from Aberdeenshire, i.e. Eastern Highlands. edit: I've since been told the virgin oak air- and kiln-dried experiments were also unpeated, although I didn't recognise that at the time I sampled them.

Have you had the 2012 or 2014? What do you think of those ?

How do you rate this compared to the 2012 and 2014?
@WhiskyJason119 күн бұрын
good questions - I have never compared them directly
