Always carry a short piece of rope to wrap through the spring eyes and get yourself out of a bad situation. I have some 40 year old 330s that have a tab held on by Kotter keys at the gap in the spring eye for such an emergency. They are in my discontinued collection

A savior. I have a squirrel that ate a hole in my shake roof. I sealed it, covered the hole with flashing, and replaced the shingles. In less that 24 hours the critter had gnawed off the shingles trying to get through. I used to trap muskrats as a kid using conibears. I know how effective they are. Heading to Cabella's. Thank you.

I sometimes use an 1.5" long piece of garden hose with a screw in the middle to attach to the pole, limb, or roof entry and I notch both ends of the hose to squeeze the trap frame in to stabelize the trap . Works excellent for the smaller bodygrippers

As long as they are as big as chipmunks these should work...otherwise I would use rat traps.

The trap worked right away, but didn't kill the squirrel, it was running around the tree with the head stuck in the trap. Not good in a residential area :/ We have a big problem with pests here and looking for a quick kill solution.

Most of these are fast kills..
@stefanie_jones4 жыл бұрын
@@bensbackwoods Thanks for replying, Ben. In that case, I'll keep trying! Maybe it was a one off. I had to get a Duke 110 if that makes a difference. When I felt the strength of the spring, I thought nothing could survive.
@loganpeck50844 жыл бұрын
@@stefanie_jones Try not baiting it. I've killed quite a few animals with these style of traps, but I've never baited it. If just its head was in it, it sounds like he didn't go deep enough into the trap. Maybe attach it to a 2x4 and lean the 2x4 against a tree. Then maybe they'll run up the 2x4 and right through the trap.
@MysteriousOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
ANY 110 will kill a squirrel. A 220 will break your wrist.
@critterman54882 жыл бұрын
@@loganpeck5084 you want a neck catch not a suitcase catch. Throat and back of skull not the sides of the neck. A slight Canadian bend at the springeyes will make traps close tighter and keep stronger pressure on the catch

I bought some of these traps. I found them very hard to set, and dangerous. ( I’m a girl. ). Maybe you could do a whole video on how to set these traps and not end up in the emergency room ( or destroy your manicure ). P.S. Do they come in pink?

You're probably way too smart to watch dumb videos like this...I've caught tons of squirrels with my missing nails. I also lost traps because predators and larger animals like raccoons and opossum will drag them off. I guess I have no idea what I'm doing 🤷
