I was thinking of saving for the Huawei 40 pro plus , i had a cruch over p30 pro and that kinda made stay in huawei loke the most people that try Huawei phones. But it's time for a change and Bens advises are always about what's the best for the consumer ....so I'm saving for the Xiaomi Ultra now and gonna import from Hong Kong big time. I really, really, REALLY like this phone. The looks, that display, THOSE WALLPAPERS (!), the look of the software (surprised me, too), the charging speeds...ugh. Xiaomi doesn't get enough credit for just how much they've been killing the game for the past three years or so. I wish this phone was available here- and that I could afford it. I like the back of it. Not available outside China though. I like a macro lense too. Use it on OnePlus 8 Pro. Most KZbinrs bash it but that's a bandwagon. Still prefer Samsung Note phones overall but I live in Korea and they have great functionality here.

I concur with the view on the macro lenses.. granted there are many OEMs who just stick one there for the sake of a numbers game.. but some actually work like those on the Poco F2 Pro!! Used it many times and satisfied 9 out of 10 times

@@zahmikk I haven't used Oneplus 8 pro, but one of my friends have Oneplus 7 pro, it is a great smartphone, but camera isn't great at all, because it always oversharpens and makes photo oversaturated. I heard that it is the same for 8 pro. But have been using Mi 9T pro for 1 year, and also my another friend has Mi 10 pro. I can definitely say that Xiaomi smartphones are a way better than any other ones which cost the same price. I would recommend Mi 10 Ultra. Also, Supersaf said that Oneplus 8 pro has big screen issues

You hit the nail on the head and I agree that smartphones are almost as good as they can be. I would also add that camera software and hardware can get better, batteries can be improved and audio can get better but these are not major changes

@6:30 That's incorrect. The phone does support Google Play out of the box-- inserting a Western sim allows you to download the Play Store from the Mi Store and then you go from there. I just received my Mi 10 Ultra 2 days ago and I'm loving it (T-Mobile network, USA)

Always used Xiaomi as my second phone : redmi 4x, redmi 7 and now redmi 8 but my main phone is always Samsung or LG. This is first Xiaomi which I want for main phone! I have hope Xiaomi will realise global version with LTE b20 800mhz. In Poland b20 is a must have. Video output would be a nice feature as well because is nice to plug phone to tv sometimes (example in hotel)

I have a question: - when you go to the video camera and hit the record button, if you zoom slowly from ultra wide camera up to 120x zoom, does the lens switching show up (like in the Samsung when the colors were changing) or is it a smooth transition with no color distortion?

As someone who doesn't care a lot about cameras, I see no reason to buy this one instead of the regular mi 10 (except for the 120hz display, but thats not enough to justify the price difference). The mi 10 has better battery life, better (dual) speakers, it's significantly lighter to hold - which makes it more comfortable, same processor, same OS, etc. The price difference is huge and even so the mi 10 still has some superior aspects. Xiaomi should've maintained the same speaker system as the mi 10 pro on the ultra, should've put gorilla glass 6 on the screen, instead of gorilla glass 5, and should've added a 6.9 inch display instead of 6.67. Then the difference would be significant.

I like the software more than miui (even if Huawei didn't have the Google issue I still like xiaomi software better). And yes xiaomi is more "fun" as xiaomi software is more whimsical and has more fun modes. But the Huawei P40 Pro PLUS is a better hardware. As for the standard non plus P40 Pro, i'd say it's about even with mi 10 ultra. So factor in the Google issue, the xiaomi is my preferred device

Great phone and review! What I can not understand is the reason from Xiaomi to keep it just for China. I am quite angry with them. In Spain (where I live) Xiaomi is the biggest seller of smartphones! There was a lot o complaints when they changed the strategy of money value with the Mi 10 and Mi10 pro. Now, they produce the best of the best for less money and they are not thinling on a global version? This does not have much sense in my opinion...

@@danielg.1926 no está en castellano es verdad pero tú sabes inglés de sobras, el NFC por cierto si funciona, yo me acabo de comprar el mi 10 pro antes de que anunciase el ultra y lo compre ahí, lo tengo en inglés todo y me funciona casi todo perfecto, como bien dicen en la review, algunas cosas del Google no sincronizan en el acto pero por lo general funciona todo. El NFC me funciona perfectamente
