I have a compact camera from 2011, Fuji X10. It uses Pixel binning in certain light conditions. Back then, this concept was mind-blowing to me! This camera is still good and can outperform any smartphone when used correctly

Ben I love your honest take on tech and how you really put things into perspective, never one to make things sound better than they are. Clearly this 12T Pro is a good phone and probably so if at that rumored price, it's a respectable price for what it is but as you said even with this new 200MP camera sensor, it doesn't all of a sudden dethrone the Xiaomi king which is the Ultra whether that's in the camera dept. or any other but I am glad to see Xiaomi continuing to push the boundaries and not minding to be first with new tech that's not proven.

@@anonm7742 I don't know about a specific place you can go to but I stay in Johannesburg and I buy all my Xiaomi online from takealot, Makro or connected devices. You need to shop around for a good deal though but once you find one it's easy to buy and collect at takealot or ship to your house

Comparison with the iPhone 14 Pro Max has already been done by other reviewers. IPhone still wins especially zoomed in photos. I think it all comes down to the processing software still needs work for xiaomi.

The race is on to 1 gigapixel which is 1000 megapixels. Imagine that binned down to 12.5mp but I think processing power has to increase a lot more to be able to handle that instantly. Then there is the matter of the balance of those amount of pixels and sensor size.

For taking pictures, this camera is flagship level, the phone has flagship specs as well, just no flagship features like IP rating or wireless charging, the only weak side is the video I'd say, but for that price it's good enough

@@bensgadgetreviews i don't think as an overall camera experience is better than the iphone 14 pro.but the advantage that it has in a few areas,especially photo,is due to the huge 1 inch sensor,not to the xiaomi software.and i think for years now this is xiaomi's way to hide their lack of software optimization:big camera sensors and big batteries!but when compared to other phones,with smaller sensors and batteries,they often lose.

They just can't get away from the throw away 2mp camera eh?😂😂🤣 I hate the 200mp count just because it's seems to create a problem that's unnecessary. They could simply give us a 20mp lens on the same size sensor and potentially have better results and quicker processing enabling things like 4k120 like what Sony is able to do. However this keeps me a lot more hope for the S23 Ultra even though I stand behind my initial point regarding the needless high megapixels.
