Casio Edifice was my first watch ever.. I wore it(almost daily) for 19 years.. 19 years it lasted... Got it as a Christmas gift, never wanted or wore a watch before.. But I got it, so started using it, I was 19 years old at the time. I'm 39 now, it finally gave out last year, when the screws finally stripped themselves and the back plate wouldn't stay on. Only swapped the battery maybe 2 or 3 times in 19 years. It was simple, elegant and a god damn tank. Surprisingly quality watch. Wouldn't hesitate in the slightest to pick up another.

My Edifice is also on a similar path. I've had it for almost 8 years now, and only had to change the battery once. It's on the heavier side, and I use a watch as a utilitarian tool, but it's managed to hold up quite well. The bracelet has gotten quite dinged now, but the watch itself is still spotless, save for one tiny scratch on the glass, which isn't even noticable.

Thx for sharing. I lost a F91-W in my garage when i was a kid and found it 9 years later with Battery intact and it only gained 5 Minutes in all these years. Incredible. I am an enthusiast for vintage japanese watches. I bought an Casio CFX-200 Calculator watch. It is 40 years of age and still working perfectly. Love this brand. Vintage Seiko is the only one that comes close. Sadly newer models both from Seiko and Casio don't live up to their standars but both are still incredible brands. Especially when it comes to their "main-models" because the finishing on them is usually superb

Nonsense, 38mm is not a 'women's watch' (nothing wrong with those either btw). Men's watches used to be even 34mm in diameter. Just because Silvester Stallone decided to wear a Panerai doesn't mean the rest of us have to lug wall clocks around as well. Just wear what fits you and stop listening to those fools who think you're not manly enough.

@@StuntpilootStef if you take BAD closeup shots the watches tend to look bigger. Move the camera back and zoom in if you want it to look normal. Furthermore, just because 34mm used to be worn by men, doesn't mean it works now. Fashions change - men used to walk around in tights with frilly lace collars and feathers in their hats; do you think anyone could get away with that now?

I have to say, however, the watches DO speak for themselves. I am sure that the bean-counters at Casio are relying on the FREE advertising: "word-of-mouth". I'd bet the bottom line is not affected, though watches going out of production is a real drag to watch fans.

i think yall got it backwards...its not so much lack of proper marketing..i think its just that culturally,the japanese are diferent than lets say,the western people...usually,more polite,more traditional,and more honest.they dont try to sell something for what its not..being it watches,cars or lcd´s..yall say its its lack of proper marketing,but once they rase their prices,here come the ones that say..."for that price i can buy such and such..."

Thanks for the review. On the strength of this I bought the 100D. I have had it for a week. The finishing is fabulous. It is below my Seiko SARX - but not by much! I have the blue dial version and the sunburst is excellent. It is absolutely legible - a half second glance is all you need. In my humble opinion your review is exactly on the money. I concur that it is exceptionally comfortable - though I have chucked on a $20 leather strap. My 'complaints': A frame round the date would be nice. Sapphire with AR coating would be worth paying a bit extra for.

Like most of your viewers, I have more watches than I need so, while I personally prefer the white dial on a NATO or distressed leather strap, for a one watch solution, I'd probably suggest the black as I feel it pulls off the dress look a bit better. I remember when these were $28 USD. That's what my black one cost, brand new from Amazon. I still feel that is the best brand new watch value I've ever seen. Same as in the video, 35mm
@Random-ch9my
@Random-ch9my 4 жыл бұрын
@@marvello729 Thanks, I see it listed as a 37,8 mm on the casio site: www.casio-europe.com/euro/products/watches/edifice/efv-110d-1avuef/ Kinda confusing... is this including the crown? I have 17 cm wrist (6.7 inches) and I'm afraid that the small version might look small if it's 35 mm without the crown.
@marvello729
@marvello729 4 жыл бұрын
@@Random-ch9my I noticed the same at the time. Just measured it and it is 35mm WITHOUT the crown. The sweet spot for me is 38mm but this one is a good fit on my 6.5" wrist.

I bought the bigger model and it is fantastic. I love how versatile it is, not overly sporty but not overly dressy, and the bigger model is a perfect fit. I was tempted by the blue dial one but the black one is more universal. I have more expensive watches than these but none of them is as universal as this one. You really can dress them up or down really well, I went with light brown, perforated leather strap and man, they look fantastic.

Theres a truism in our community that "you cant go wrong with a Casio", and that totally applies to this. I have the blue dial one - The bracelet looks cheap with its shiny shiny polished centre links, so I ditched that in favour of a decent leather strap - massive improvement.

Highly recommend the 40mm over the 35mm, I think the 35mm is just way too small even with my 6.5 inches, but that's just my opinion. Bought it a few months ago, amazing watch for the money.

Bought a plastic Casio many years ago........what a watch........light as a feather, thin, good battery, great timekeeping.......I put a white leather strap on it......it being a whife watch...I think it looks really cool ......especially in the summer when I wear a lot of white clothes....shoes etc..........I love my Casio ...!

Have got both sizes of this watch and must admit it is a stunning watch for the money and it's one of my favourite watches and I have a few high end watches and it compares favourably against them. Price,build and style I'd say it's Def ice cold💯👍

1. Certainly ice cold! 2. If you really want to check all boxes, go with the Casio Edifice EFR-107S: sapphire + 10ATM + 8.2mm thickness + superb case finishing + even better dial. All this for just a little higher price (and a 40 mm diameter). 3. I don't think the EFV-110D is a ladies watch. Casio name their ladies line "Sheen", while "Edifice" is for men. 4. Good job for your great work! I enjoy your channel very much.

Hello, I really like your website and your reviews. Can you please be so kind to add the width bracelet size ? I don't understand why this information is not important. For me it's mandatory. Even on Casio's official webpage (and many other brands) they do not give this information. Can you please tell me the width for the EFV-100D-1AVUEF and for the EFV-110D-1AVUEF ? By the way they are at the same price on Casio's website. Please always give the width strating from now, ok ? ;-) Thank you. Cheers

Casio is killing it. No need to spend over $100.00 on a watch. For all intents, Casio addresses the market except the snobby high-end.

Billy Boy if you want better grade steel, reliable mechanical movement and precious metals then yes, you need to spend more than that on a watch. You may not care about those things, and that’s fine, but we could apply your bare bones argument to anything in life. If you’re happy with a quartz Casio, then get this. But it’s not just “snobby” people who seek other brands...

I miss Casio watches. I used to get these beauties when i was still living in Singapore, mostly from Mustafa center or Paya Lebar for cheap. They're quite expensive from Amazon, also in EUR. Maybe when the pandemic is over, swing by SG again for some watch shopping.
