I've never seen so many ports needing changed in my life. USB c looks like it was designed to fail

Yes and inserting the switch on and off the dock many times will eventually fail. It will fail faster if it is not seated straight on with the dock every time and the pins will start to stick out. That is where I see the pins getting squished down inside the connector. Bringing this info to switch owners will help keep the life of the unit. Thank you for the comment.

How is the plastic on the new port melted before you even start applying heat? Lol

I wasn't happy with the first installation so I took it back off and did some more prep work to make it solder better. The second row of contacts make installation tricky. Thanks for the noticing and the comment.

@@yoshispcelectronicservices I found a great and very easy method to install these ports now..but yes I use to dread these ports in the past
