Would just like to point out that the L series engine is not a copy of a Packard or any other V8 engine, that is an urban myth. It is Rolls Royce's own work. They already had some experience of building V engines having already designed the Kestrel, Merlin, and Griffon engines some of the work done on the Merlin was carried over to the L series engine.

Good video, I enjoyed it. However, I believe only 500 were made not 600. I really do like the design but couldn't ever afford the fuel bills!

Worst ever "review" of splendid car. Way too much complaining for no reason; incorrect statements: Brooklands looks like Mulsanne (like Arnage - not Mulsanne); developed by VW (this was pre-VW days).

I'm just going to state three facts and let you figure out the validity of your "the Brooklands was pre-VW days" statement. 1. 1998 - VW bought Bentley 2. 2003 - Bentley Continental GT was introduced, with VW's W12. 3. 2007 - Bentley Brooklands was presented to the public.

'Gebaseerd op een Packard block' Dat klopt volgens mij niet. Rolls-Royce heeft de L-series zelf ontwikkeld. Er is wel een relatie met Packard met betrekking tot de Merlin vliegtuig engine van RR: deze werd in de US onder licentie gebouwd onder de naam Packard V-1650. Daarnaast begrijp ik de opmerking over het niet mooi zijn van de heritage niet: stel dat de motor wel gebaseerd zou zijn op een Packard motor, zou dat niets zijn om je voor te schamen. Packard introduceerde overigens pas in 1955 een V8 voor auto's. Waarom klinkt deze mijnheer alsof hij benzodiazepines heeft gebruikt, dan wel alcohol heeft gedronken? Slurring speech....
