That is a weird way to use named boundaries. Usually you use them in a design model with all the references you want to show up on the sheet referenced into the design model. Then when it creates the saved view, drawing model and drawing boundary on the sheet the references are nested through. The way he used it was just a long way to make a drawing boundary, not the true use of named boundary.
