I loved the song - it made my heart feel a longing for the truth to prevail in our world today. The fact, is I know next to nothing about this man's history so I am unfit to judge him - really, when it comes down to it, G-d is the only one who has the right to do so. But in this world of ours, there are institutions which do not always respect G-d's law before man's - that can be a BIG problem. I can only pray that G-d will deliver this man if it really is true that he was unjustly punished.

@sspiegler -The issue is that the banks did not complain. I believe part of the problem was the illegal labor force there as well. Odd, as the government wants to give immunity to illegals now. No one is saying he should not be punished but 27 years is a very long time for this crime. He has also been held in solitary and denied religious articles that others should get. He was wrong. VERY WRONG but his sentence is outside the norm. He is not a hero but he is not Charles Mason either

Oh Francois, I didn't notice this! Gee whizz, I'm shocked now you tell me - see I was mainly just listening to the song, which moved me very much cos it is a traditional one but when all this talk of corruption comes to light, I feel not as much sympathy for this man anymore - you say it wasn't very Halachah.
