Hi, 3:43 aren't the electrons in a covalent bond negatively charged, meaning they repel each other? So why is a double bond with 4 negative electrons shorter than a single bond with only 2 negative electrons? I need an answer pls.❤

Good question! Because the positively charged nucleus of each atom is more attracted to the increased electron density (electrons), pulling the atoms closer together and making the bond shorter.
