i remember seeing these for sale at the original eddie bauer store in seattle in 1979. they were $26 back then. these were not as popular as the svea 123r which cost $25 and optimus 8r which cost $32 because rei did not sell or service enders products. in those days, eddie bauer was on it's last legs and rei was still a small company and was very serious about mountaineering, not fashion and profit like they are today... so if rei did not carry it, it was not considered to be good enough for them to sell (rei also never sold the trangia stormcooker, the only trangia products they sold were the alcohol burner, the pot gripper, the .09 liter kettle and the candle lantern. so rei had very different standards back then...) i have run into several enders owners over the years who have had problems finding spare parts, in many cases parts had to be made from scratch. i met a guy at a campsite once who made wooden molds on his lathe to make new leather pump cups for his enders baby because he liked it so much that he didn't want to replace it with another stove. so they do have a following although i'm thinking that most of them ended up in landfills....

Just fired-up one of these 9063's moments ago! It had never been used--ancient, but in perfect condition. It works amazing. I love it. Nice modulation on the low flame too.

I had a Svea (Optimus) 123 brass stove that was a lot smaller, just as hot, and at full blast, lasted 45 minutes. A great bit noisy backpacking stove😁

I have one of those that I bought about 35 years ago; I think they were being closed out because it was marked way down. Mine is blue. Works very well; I still have the original box. I had to machine an adapter so that I could use a replacement Primus pump leather. It's easier to pump if you bend in the handle tab up a bit. I prime it by opening the valve and letting it dribble, then light I the gas in the pan. No need to do it disassembled; I think the uploader started it outside the case for better visibility.

Could design a paint can size thermoelectric generator stove out of this. Just design the paint can like a rocket stove with gallium inside that spun around the flute giving equal thermal conductivity to the thermoelectric generator to crank out steady volts. Just an amazing little stove.
