I've been listening to / watching this recording every day for months. I picked up the trumpet after almost 20 years of not playing and this is the piece I finish every practice session with. Even playing it transposed down by an octave and a perfect fifth and at 25% tempo it has so much energy and beauty.

I've heard several renditions of this piece. The organ/trumpet combination to me sounds the best. And this rendition is truly excellent. Mr. MacDonald has excellent phrasing, artistic intent, and technique. With the organ and the resonance of the church this rendition sets the standard of classical trumpet repertoire.

Excellente interprétation. Et surtout la seule qu'on trouve sur youtube en live, merci de l'avoir mise en ligne. Bien que fan de Maurice André, ma version préférée est celle de Francis Hardy. Celle-ci n'est pas mal non plus, peut-être un peu trop rapide à mon goût dans le dernier mouvement.

.Très bien le trompettiste sans erreurs de solfège.On est encore loin de maurice andré surtout le style assez déplorable .Il ne suffit pas de faire les notes .La musique vient de l'esprit et du coeur de ce qu'on ressent intérieurement mais on a beau faire il n'ya qu'un maurice andré
