This was 2nd September 1986. This guy is nowadays a professor, teaching trumpet in Karlsruhe. During the 1970s, we were at the same high school and took part in some concerts. He with Telemann's trumpet concerto already, me playing recorder in the e-minor concerto for recorder, flute, strings and b.c. Was nice to hear and see from old times...

This guy really understandsTelemann! Bravo. I was really surprised to hear a couple of very small bobbles that were 100% avoidable. Anyway, the guy is brilliant.

Well, hopefully he has then learnt by now not to add any "beautifyers" to this close to perfect music.

Vielen Dank. Pfarrer Hubert Tietzel-Grassall aus Thüringen.

The wonderful thing is to see how much Reinhold Friedrich has developed since 1986. He is truly one of a kind.

I hope so. He added "beautifyers" to Teleman's music which is a crime.

Oh my. Baby trumpet. So well played despite the trumpet being so small. (Though I get the how small the trumpet is helps with the notes!) Beautiful.

WOW and WOW! Looks like he is using an older Selmer Paris Maurice Andre Pic like mine. Can anyone confirm? Looks tiny.
You have to have massive confidence to pull off hair like that.

Yes of course! But note this was originally written for the natural baroque trumpet, with no valves , no vent holes. Listen to this recording of the Adagio, kzbin.info/www/bejne/fai6l3Wehr6tm7c Then there are many recording of this piece with the baroque trumpet without valves but with vent holes ( makes intonation easier on certain notes). As an example listen to Alison Balson : kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYfXYWiGqLWhb9U

@joernschulze5182 Жыл бұрын

How far have we come. Here we see the trumpet player in an outfit and hair style mimicking barrock. Nowadays we see the trumpet the piece was intended to be played on used with the trumpeter in more casual garb. It is nice to compare this rendition to the one played by Guilliano Sommerhalder on Baroque trumpet.

I'm trying to find a piece by Telemann very similar to the first 1 minute and 20-odd seconds of this, but I believe it was longer, and it was a very sad piece.
