you can oil the bearings and it will be fine .Go back to it the next day and its back to square one .I removed the bearings on mine and soaked them in oil for a week heating it up every now and then .I put it back together and so far so good

KZbin is a great thing, and you have made a nice contribution to it here. I just got a turntable of the same model and this has helped greatly.

Thanks, Chas! That was a very nice video again. Your videos are always well-paced, you speak slowly and clearly and your camera-work will get more professional over time. If I may make a suggestion: if you’d like to distinguish your channel from the countless other electronic DIY-ones, always take good care that you clearly explain how you search for a fault, how you interpret what you see and how you arrive at your conclusions. Almost no other creator does that and it’s the most difficult thing when trying to fix things.

Thanks for the video, I just bought an SRT 643FF that's currently on its way. By the photos I've seen online it seems to share a very similar motor design to this Beogram, so if it needs work done I'm hoping your video will serve me useful

good can you show the connection of the wires from the head to the preamp?
@ChasLarge2 жыл бұрын
Sorry no, the unit has gone back to the customer. If you pause the video at 06:53 you can see the connections. You can download a service manual with connection diagrams from here: elektrotanya.com/bang_olufsen_beogram_1000_1500.pdf/download.html Hope this helps/

Very pleasant delivery..very helpful Chas ..did you find out if the fine tuning knob was a speed regulator..regards tommy
@ChasLarge2 жыл бұрын
Yes I did, it puts pressure on the pulley thus slowing the drive down slightly, quite a cheap method though for something originally highly priced.
@Sonny-wo1uo10 ай бұрын
Hi, IF, when actionning the speed control knob, the speed pulley moves only vertically but doesn't move horizontally , and therefore doesn't allow to clutch the 78 rpm speed ( for instance ) , what would be your best guess ??? Thank you very much for your help .

Belt too slack is my best guess

Thanks Chas. Really helpful video. I have a similar deck and I need to change the belt. Do you think it is possible to do it from top of the unit (release the plate) or should I remove the frame like you did?
@ChasLarge Жыл бұрын
If it's that similar, you'll need to do what I did.
@FinJus-dx6qb Жыл бұрын
@@ChasLarge Yes, it’s a similar one. That’s what I thought too. Really appreciate your help. Thanks.

I bought mine off one of the many ebay suppliers. Its been a while so no longer shows on my purchase history. Search for the make and model.

On ne vois pas comment vous remettez en place la courroie , c'est bien dommage, car sur ce modèle c'est tout simplement l'enfer pour changer la courroie :(
@ChasLarge2 жыл бұрын
I used a hook tool, an old long screwdriver with a hook ground into the end to keep the belt taut whilst refitting the motor assembly.
