Gotcha! I hope there are some changes in place for him in the full release, I've been enjoying him less and less with each run sadly, I feel like I end up playing into the same ideas with him because of ring of dispel

Great list. He might not be the best character overall, but he does feel like the simplest and most forgiving for a beginner and that is an important thing to have in a game with a pretty steep learning curve. Also, Fiery Slash can form the first attack of the three attack combo, so it synergises well with Breath of Fire. Looking forward to the next one, cheers.

Yeah this is a great point, he probably is the best character to start with and in non-nightmare difficulties I'd imagine he feels a lot better. And true forgot to mention that firey slash + breath of fire combo, I'm glad they made those two work with each other

I haven’t played this yet but I will be downloading the game this week. I’ve been doing my research before playing and Beowulf looks like it fits my type of build the most. I appreciate the information and I’m hoping it’ll be helpful enough to make me play well on Beowulf. Thank you! 🙏🏻

This game is actually suprisingly fun. I picked it up from my gamestop and i have already spent like 40 hours on the game. SWK is my fav

Great video, thanks for all your ravenswatch content! I just beat the game in nightmare with 5 negative modifiers (used the one where you lose life, you can negate it with shield from your talent). My build was centered around sparkling shield and heal. You basically can skip most optional bosses, and focus on armor/defense charges/cooldown.

I haven't played since the initial early access release, but I'm getting the impression Beowulf underperforms in damage relative to the other characters. Like you said, Draconic Binds is good and something you want in every build. Would it be fair to make the reward portion part of his base kit? Replacing Draconic Binds with something else.

@@jamesuu7698 Yeah I think he underperforms quite a bit, he has 1-2 two builds that are really strong by they require so much RNG to get there compared to other characters. And yeah they made Draconic Binds the go to choice for like 90% of solo play because of the added cooldown to trait, feels bad without it. Not sure what they would change but I hope they add some more balance for him

This video makes me sad. Beowulf is the first character I go max level and the first character I beat nightmare with. I always knew he was one of the lesser characters but I didn't want to say it out loud. Thanks for your thoughts Ace.

I think I'm in the same boat, I loved him early on but I feel like the avalon update really knocked his usefulness

Best character is probably Melusine and Pied Piper, my favorite character is Aladdin and really liking Carmilla right now
