I loved this scene in the movie! What attracted me to Beowulf was the fact that I've always loved dragons. Beowulf was one movie that I loved to death. It's so well done, and the research that went into it was very well taken care of. The actors were perfect choices, as well.

Interestingly enough (and you probably already know this) but Tolkien was inspired by Bewoulf and the Dragon from the source material. In the original poem, a slave steals a piece of treasure which causes the Dragon to go on a rampage forcing Beowulf to intervene. Similar to how Bilbo disturbs Smaug!

Many years ago I found out the central part fits perfectly with the climax of Cronos' battle in God of War 3. 1:50 "There you are Kratos". 1:57 "Your fate is now in my hands!" 2:15 "I will make you into a bloody stain!" 2:25 Kratos blocks Cronos' hand and stabs it with the Sword of Olympus 2:38 "KRATOS! Where did you go? By hiding, you show your true nature, coward" 3:15 "Why do you flee, Kratos? There is no escape!"

@balrog13571 I think because the screen time this plays for in the film is over ten minutes, the track would have just been long, laborious and eventually, people would be aching for it to end. Without something visually to help attract their attention, they had to keep you entranced with just the music. That's why it's shorter.

@TheBeowulf2007 Yeah I guess that makes sense. I kind of counted that it was only about 10 minutes and not over but yeah it would get rather long after awhle. But if you listen that part in the beginning of the chase comes later on this track and the scene in the water in the beginning. Plus there wasn't that part where their crashing into the cliffs which I thought was a really awesome part. It's still great, but I do kind of miss that part on this track.
