Being near the situation I can tell you this, EVERYONE at the Westport flea market knew he took Jerry and the PD did NOTHING. The only reason me and my cousin were "safe" was we were younger then his preferred victims. Jerrys dad even went through Bobs trash trying to get the cops to arrest him. My uneasy feeling about all cops came from this situation. If the PD would of listened to Jerrys dad, 5 other men would be alive today.

+brian4480 That's the story my client at the medical clinic in Detroit told me when the news came out that Berdella was dead: That the old man of the first victim knew he was with Berdella and moved heaven and earth to try to get the cops to look at him for his son's disappearance. EDIT: Same thing with the Corll case in Texas: One of the missing boy's fathers watched Corll and one of the teenage boys digging in his boat shed for 20 minutes, went and tried to get the cops to go back with him, cops told him to mind his business but he went back and watched them dig for another 2 hours, instead. He could see they had more firepower than he did so he didn't confront them. In that case years later cops raided a warehouse or storage locker and found tons of pedo pictures of teen boys, many of them Corll victims. There's a lot more to many of these stories.

Sad to hear that. I was listening to a podcast by a lady going by Professor Wham on Conspirinormal and she said she worked at Bobs store. Amazing logic these serial killers have - that if the police did their job properly, more wouldn't have died. On another occasion he was about to torture a guy who was injured but at the last second decided to take him to the hospital instead. But later that guy came back and pissed him off so he decided to go on with the torture. To me he doesn’t seem like a true psychopath. Why would a psychopath be disgusted with what they did. Also why would a psychopath give up the opportunity to kill someone and instead take that person to the hospital. Seems like there were two conflicting sides to his personality but the more he killed the more his conscience disappeared.

what you imagine would be pleasant dreams compared to what he truly did. the fucker kept 3-4 THICK binders on the torture he did to larry. dozens upon dozens of pictures complete w/syringes sticking out of his neckd, throat arm. The letters he would use to describe what he used. like cf for carrot fuck, cbf you get it.. THEN to behead him and cook parts of him on his dam stove to feed those other poor victims. Hell truly is too good for him. Everything he did to those boys should have been done to him.

One thing I find odd about Berdella is that his crimes were similar to and just as horrifying as Jeffrey Dahmer and yet Dahmer became legendary and everyone knows who he was and yet Berdella didn't get nearly as much media attention and he's mostly forgotten now, never understood why.
@lndingalle96058 жыл бұрын
He didn't kill nearly as many that is why.

Jeffrey dahmer had killed way more, and berdella wasn't known to eat his victims as far as we know.
@lesterclaypool18 жыл бұрын
+stan smith The international press was already in Milwaukee on another story when the Dahmer story broke, so there was instant worldwide news coverage, while the Berdella story stayed so small and local that many KC residents even believe Berdella's acts to be urban myth to this day.
@earl778 жыл бұрын
***** That explains it. I'm from Canada and here Dahmer was known by everyone and even late night comics made jokes about him, kind of insensitive in retrospect. I don't think they would have made jokes if his victims had been white and middle-class or girls. I only knew about Berdella because I happened to flip through a book about him at a used store, pretty horrific pictures and story.
@lesterclaypool18 жыл бұрын
stan smith I'm damned if I can even remember why the press was in Milwaukee in the first place all these years later. My sister-in-law was working for a, European, not your, French news agency as a fact checker and translator and was in Milwaukee when the Dahmer story broke. She stayed to help cover the story to the end of the trial and even though she talked about it non stop with the right people it still messed her head up a bit. The jokes were almost as immediate as the story; so much for the comedy = tragedy + time theory, huh? I heard about the Berdella case only because I was working in a medical clinic that served Detroit's gay community when he died in prison and one of my clients there was a mobile transient fellow, cool cat, only knew him a handful of months before he moved along again, who knew one of the Berdella victims when he was living in KC.

It’s not as if he had the power to curse the land. The only thing that was ever wrong with it was that he was living on it. Never understood this aversion to things associated with bad events. By that thinking, we might argue that survivors of crime are morally tainted by association with the criminal. Actually . . . many people *do* seem to think that way and they are very cruel in their pursuit of “good vibes.”

Serial killers aren't innately different from any of us. They still have the same mannerisms, enjoy the same hobbies and shows, and even a similar sense of humor. A serial killer is just what happens when a person snaps from constant negative factors (incomplete parts of the brain and/or experiences in life) and can now end the lives of other humans without remorse. Serial killers are the spooky side of humans along with drug cartels, sex traffickers, child molester groups, etc. The side of us that makes our blood run cold with fear at the thought of just how dark a human mind can get.

Please refrain from commenting on topics beyond your understanding such as mental disease. People dont just snap and go around abducting people, raping them and torturing them for weeks on end. Many of his victims died from their injuries from extend torture. Do you know anything about the ways he tortured his victims? No sane individual could derive pleasure from something like that, just because they "snapped". I don't have to know about his life to judge him. How naive of you to defend him.
