Thank you both, well explained. Non believers will have their "own" concept of love. As a new Christian (got baptized Oct 2017), I need a stronger man and a real Christian. There is no pride here people, Christians follow & love Jesus Christ period and we should look for someone who is and strives the same. Praise the Lord!

I'm struggling with this in my marriage and I was just telling someone I wish being unequally yoked was explained to me in this way prior to being married (better yet, engaged). It's an issue that's glazed over (("No it's not good- but God can turn it all around!")) but it's not until the believer is truly walking that Christian walk do the differences become evident & problematic. It's easier to commit to someone who is carnal minded when you are a lukewarm Christian. You just don't really know any better because you still view love and relationships the way the world sees it and not as Christ sees it. Being in the Word changes your perception but I'm glad the Word also shows those of us who have fallen into this category how to cope and persevere! Thank you two so much for your videos! You are truly an inspiration & a blessing to watch!

Yes, my exh-husband and I were unequally yoked and we’re both believers. We had nothing in common other than Jesus. Shortly after we got married, he had a falling out with our then pastor since they were friends. This caused him to grow cold toward the things of God and the church. This was a miserable time for us as a couple. Though he came back to the Lord, he and I couldn’t seem to overcome the fact that we disagreed about EVERYTHING! He was bitter and mean to me. We ended it after 12 years. The suffering started from day one for me. It has taken me almost 3 years to heal from that marriage. I’m finally in a really good place. My relationship with the LORD is stronger than ever and I have learned so much.

Churches gloss over this issue. If people aren't hearing this from their pastors then this leads to believers mingling with unbelievers and unto marriage which will be a hell in itself. Pastors- stop glossing over this issue and teach the church to run from a person that doesn't put Jesus 1st in their life because the consequences are great.

I've been watching your teaching videos on the consequences of being unequally yoked. I thank God that everything you guys are saying is Bible based. I tried to explain all this to my adopted daughter (Who's a born-again christian--she does not live with me), but she's not having it. She plans to marry an unbeliever, expecting for God to honor her rebellion so that the young man can be saved. But God bends the rules for no one. His word is already settled in heaven. Now my adopted daughter doesn't talk to me anymore, and that only tells me that she has disconnected herself from Jesus Christ. I advised her to speak to her pastor and leaders in her church, and to be honest with them about her marriage plans. I told her: If they say "NAY", then you know you're going the wrong WAY. But she didn't do that. What she did was to confide in one of her christian friends who told her it was okay. I suppose the only way my adopted daughter will see the grave error of her mistake is to suffer a train wreck in her marriage, which is exactly what happened to my sister when she married an unbeliever, thinking she could convert him.

Hi redifened I want to pay my respect and say that I was in a wirlwind of a cycle of unbelief and painful self insecurities which made my life miserable it was a long hard process to have Christ overcome so much pain I had kept inside for so long! God is faithful he always has something for each person that trusts in the hope of Jesus. I left a relationship that I was manipulative in and it caused a great divide.

Pray for me I am struggling with this pretty much always struggled with this . Yes I fully understand being unequally yoked isn’t just in the sense of both being believers but also spiritually speaking . Our spiritual maturity can vary and can make a couple unequally yoked . My pastor has always preached about this. But I have had relationships with both Christian and non Christian alike and it’s ended badly . I am currently infatuated with a non believer. We’re just friends but I know it’s not right I am not sure how he feels about me and I hope he doesn’t feel the same way because I don’t want to disobey God . But if he doesn’t feel the same I’ll be crushed . Just pray for me to remain consistent and for strength to let go . And just deal with the rejection now then the heartbreak later

It’s gonna taint your faith.. I used to be with a girl she was Buddhist and well I couldn’t convert her .. idk My younger sister is being tainted by a unequally yoked relationship and now like she’s turned against how we are raised … Being in an equally yoked relationship often ends being lukewarm I prayed that God would reach that girl in my relationship and even if it wasn’t me or we weren’t together. She’s a Christian now , God works in mysterious ways but oh well I’m glad that God was able to find a way to her even if through somebody else.

Truth a toxic relationship is the worst. My daughters dad was of the world and I was saved. Yet he was a believer and he was constantly apologizing for his wrongs yet he continued in his ways. The only thing we had in common was great sex and money. That’s it. After he lost me he realized what he lost. It was too late.

Yes this is very true! Before I married my now husband. Before we dated he went to church and got baptized. Then after going awhile he stopped going. A few years later he met me. I was a church girl still am so he came to church with me for two years. He stopped after something tragic happened in his Life! We fought a lot because I was so mad and also I needed his help with having a new baby etc. It took two years for me to get over my bitterness towards him not coming to church with me. I realized no matter how mad I am that won't change him not coming. We have learned to get along an we respect each other's decisions! It's still not easy but I would so much rather have married him then someone in the church who was just like me. Why? Because it has taught me to look at things in a different light! There is so much I could add but I won't! I believe he will be coming back to church with me. He has always hinted towards coming back aswell! In Gods timing it will happen! Girl, your situation is not hopeless.Christ in not weak towards us but mighty in us, I know all about taking a step of faith to leave a relationship you are in when you meet Christ and in your heart you think maybe he will change.
