This was my first handgun purchase. Both my brother and my brother-in-law are career law enforcement officers and they highly recommended the PX4 as a great first handgun. Thanks for the excellent video!

Bought my PX4 9mm yesterday. The 1st pistol I've ever purchased or owned. I bought it just for fun on "rainy days". This video is perfect for a novice such as myself. I really appreciate you posting this great and thorough informational video. The pace is perfect (can always "rewind") and the picture is clear. I didn't even know I had a cleaning kit or the auto loader in the box until I saw this video. Can't wait to go to a range and try it out. Thanks, again!

my husband bought me this gun for safety. he's a marine and I love the fit in my small hands, it doesn't hurt to shoot it. even though he's showed me a million times how to use it, lol watching this video helped too. especially when he's gone and I feel like I've forgotten.

I have this same gun, and yes, the pin holding the backstrap was more difficult to insert with the larger backstrap. It felt like it was hanging up on something and required a lot of manipulation to reinsert it. I love this gun. No issues what so ever.

The round cup that you deemed " useless " is a parts cup for holding the small springs and pins that you remove when working on the internals. You don't want them rolling off of the table and getting lost.
@EBarnabus10 жыл бұрын
Impressed!!! mainly on the grip change, but the little ammo loader!! I looked at that and thought it was just packing material!! YOU stuck the barrel in without telling us the groove needs to be in the up position! doubt it would even fit in the down! I Learned a lot from you video, and really Thank You for it!!!

I think the cup you are referring to @ 3:05ish could be to set the pistol on to remove the drift/roll pins and retain the pins or other small parts when you remove them.

The pin that comes up is a firing pin block to prevent the gun from discharge from dropping or hitting it. This is on almost all Beretta pistols.

I think that pin that sticks out the top when the trigger is pulled is a firing pin safety, which prevents the firing pin from being bumped or moved through inertia when the trigger isn't being pulled. The 92 also has a long rectangular piece that sticks out the top as the trigger is pulled.

That little pin that raises up when you pull the trigger is a firing pin block. Basically that is between that other pin you were talking about with the safety, and the firing pin, so even if the hammer was struck unintentionally while on fire, the weapon will still not go off. The weapon would have to be on fire, and the have the trigger pulled to go off. The Beretta 92 has that same feature.

The easy take down switch is NOT ONLY for this PX-4, you can also find it in BERSA TPR9 or TPR9C. They have exactly the SAME way to take down the pistol .... Press down the take down switch, slide it forward, then you've taken it apart for cleaning or upgrade etc ...
@cooter0512 жыл бұрын
The little pin you mentiioned around 8:30 is the firing pin block moving up and out of the way. It's just an internal safety feature that prevents the gun from discharging in the event the gun is dropped.

Its a fairly large pistol to try to conceal but it would make a great glove box pistol. The best advice I could give you is to go down to your local range and get your hands on a few pistols. Most ranges rent out pistols which can really narrow down your selection.

The barrel spins so it doesn't have to cam. Most beretta pistols barrels stay level and slide back a little so that the next round can load the recoil reduction is just a bonus. I hope it can produce the same or better reliability than the 92.

That pin you said pops up is a hammer block in case you are pulling the hammer back and it slips that block will not allow the hammer to strike the primer. then when you pull the trigger that block is raised out of the way allowing the primer strike.

So to clear up what you're saying about the de-cocker--Even if there's an ammo in your chambe, THE GUN WON'T FIRE the round if you use the de-cocker, because the nipple that engages the firing pin when it gets hit by the hammer would actually get out of the way of the hammer when the hammer "slams" back to normal position. Gah i suck at explaining my point.

I know this is an older video and I've only had this gun long enough to put about 300 rounds through it. I just took it down and the piece you show coming out with a spring is staying in the frame. I spent several hours trying to figure out what's different. Could that piece be jammed somehow? does it come out in a particular way? Because it did not come out with the barrel and the slide assembly I mean. I remove the slide assembly and the barrel came out but the spring and the knob assembly that the spring slides into and the barrel rotates on stayed in the j frame. I may have cussed my self into hell trying to figure out what was going wrong and how I was being so damn stupid.

Just a guess, because I have little experience with the PX4, but that pin that pops out of the slide is probably the drop safety. Most striker-fired handguns use a similar barrel-shaped drop safety to block the firing pin, but it's all internal. I think, due to the low bore axis and hammer design, the drop safety has to stick out like that simply for clearance since the firing pin is seated so close to the top of the slide. It could also be some sort of indicator feature, but I don't know how that would be useful.
@EricsTechTalk10 жыл бұрын
I plan to get one of these soon, and I like to completely dismantle all my firearms to figure out how they work, so when I do, I'll let you know for sure.

Magazine release is reversible, not ambidextrous. Also, one can chamber first round, clear, and field strip weapon with safety engaged, a plus! Pulling trigger and letting hammer drop when slide is off the frame is not good for it.

It is a firing pin block. IT stay down when the trigger is not engaged to keep the gun from firing when dropped or the hammer is bumped.

I feel the polimar makes the gun flimsy in the magazine well. Test: take your magazine out and squeeze lightly on the grip. you will notice that you could crush it if you are relatively strong. The gun is still a top performer but the 92 all metal guns feel more solid than the Storms. I would like to have the option to have an light metal frame instead of polimer to make the gun more durable. Plastics are not meant for lifetimes.
