It's a hidden gem because Beretta never made efforts to update or promote it for over 20 years. The same slick coating that easily wears and scratches, no serrations, no optics cut, and identical grip/frame features. It looks outdated like its 1993. On the other hand, the Sig with the P320 offers a range of options including different slides, finishes, optic cuts, frames, grip angles, and textures.

I go with the Px4 Storm. It has the unique Italian flare in design and revolving barrel that dissipates the inertia of muzzle flip. It is the polymer configuration of the tried and tested M9 used by the US military up until the 80s. Beretta as a manufacturer is the oldest gun manufacturer in the world that still exists to this day so genuine parts are always available and great history behind it.

@@blackmane8949 The rotarting barrel does, actually. The rotation of the barrel requires energy,and that energy is subtracted to the recoil. The "parent system" of the PX4 is that of the 8000 series, that was native in .40 s&w. The rotating barrel was chosen also to tame the snappy recoil of that round in a compact gun.

I also have the Beretta Px4 Storm Inox Model is the Stainless Steel Slide one I also have in 9mm & yes I would prefer the Px4 Storm over the Glock. Glock in my standards practically sucks in all calibers in my opinion & I’ve been to a friends house that has a backyard shooting range & I shot his Glock model pistol of the .45 acp & 10 mm. Both guns were jamming up all the freakin time & the .45’s slide blew off the gun & scarred my right hand on the top & luckily it blow any fingers off but gave me a big scar on the top my hand & that is why I prefer Beretta instead bc of the rotating barrel that helps keep the recoil down from shooting the gun & helps keep the gun stable as well plus they come in different calibers of a .45, 9mm & a .40 caliber plus in 3 different sizes as well of a full-size as we just saw in video, a compact & a subcompact model as well

Sold every Glock except the 21 I keep in the MCK. Replaced my G19 with the Storm compact..Best decision Ive made. Now I'll watch the video for confirmation .

I bought the PX4 medium size because of the double action and 17+1 capacity and value. Proved reliable at the range with no misfires or jamming. Easy to service and plenty of aftermarket parts/upgrades if needed.

Thank you for your honest and no-nonsense review. I would choose the Beretta PX4 over the Glock because one of the most important features of a gun is missing in the Glock: I don't know if my gun is cocked or not by looking at it. When I look at the PX4, it's clear whether it is cocked or not. No way I will holster a cocked gun on my body. On that count the Glock is out. The PX4 is probably close to perfect except for its rather large de-cocker.

Both are excellent, but the PX 4 Storm is way more interesting, and unique. For me it's my choice because of my familiarity of the manual of arms with the M9 which is the same. It's a safer weapon to carry, in my opinion, as well.

A better comparison would be the PX4 Compact, as it has virtually the same footprint. In fact, when Ernest Langdon began discussing the PX4 Compact as a DA/SA carry option to the G19, he called the PX4 his DA/SA G19. Both are excellent - proven & reliable, but it comes down to a carry philosophy. I'm a DA/SA guy at heart. I've been carrying a slightly modified PX4 Inox Compact for years, and I have no/zero interest in replacing it with anything else. For me, the PX4 Compact is the perfect combination of size, capacity, and shootability. As for the rotating barrel lock system, Beretta has made a believer out of me. It's a unique and excellent shooter, and I absolutely LOVE it 😊

I had a G43x and it just never felt right in my hand. After trying Glock's full sizes, CZs, S&Ws I ran into the PX4, I had never heard about it before. I thought the 92fs was their only true symbol. Oh man, when I held the PX4 it just felt perfect. It's what I carry now.

Good review but I'd personally disagree with your comparison of their recoil impulses, since regardless of muzzle flip the recoil sensations are significantly different. The Glock 19 is snappy and presents the full recoil impulse to the shooter all at once, whereas the PX4 feels like it breaks up the impact and distributes each portion throughout its cycling. Some people prefer one or the other, but in my experience the shooting sensation between these two guns is quite distinct. The PX4 is less likely to provoke recoil anticipation or overcompensation and because of that, if I knew I'd be up against multiple attackers in a stress situation I'd go with the PX4 in a heartbeat.

Hands down the Beretta PX4 Storm, never liked the Glock 19, prefer the G17. Also, the Beretta has the safety/decocker and I believe the loaded chamber indicator, where as the Glock, does not.

When testing the triggers you can rack the slide and hold the trigger pressed to show the reset. That’s a pretty important factor for many people 😊

Bought a storm compact years ago. Rented both the glock and the beretta before buying. Put many rounds through each. The Beretta just felt better and there was a noticeable reduction in recoil. I am sure they're both very well made and capable pistols but for me the PX4 gets the nod.

Comparing the px4 compact in 40s&w to the Glock 23 - it is night and day better shooting experience with the Beretta. I accidentally traded for a 40 thinking it was a 9mm and was at first kind of mad at myself for making such a dumb mistake. After one day at the range, I LOVE this px4. Probably going to buy multiple copies in different sizes and configurations. This gun seriously rocks. It is a joy to shoot - especially compared to the Glock knuckle.

@@Duwils I would go for a 9mm if you don’t already have one mostly because of the ammo availability. 9mm really did with the cartridge debate of the early 2000’s… BUT… I’m also a fan of having tons of guns in various chamberings (I have a few guns that are VERY hard to find ammo for). I happened to buy a new combat shotgun made by Beretta several months ago. I had never owned a Beretta. I loved it so much that I went on a “Beretta binge” and bought a bunch of handguns. That compact PX4 in 40 surprised me the most in how incredibly pleasant it was to shoot.

I have both, I prefer my LANGDON PX4 STORM decocker…..I like the GLOCK, also, love firing both of these, but my ED CARRY is the PX4……..I’m just sayin’…….I added an OLIGHT with green laser and a fitting holster……I feel totally at ease with the BERETTA, quality on both are of course, outstanding! I believe the PX4 is just as good or better than any GLOCK, just a personal reference , I guess.

The only thing in common between this 2 guns is polymer frame, they are complete different platforms. Maybe a more apples to apples comparation is a CZ P07 and the PX4. Thank you for the video, awesome guns.

You are comparing apples and oranges. Striker v hammer fired couldn’t be more different. The tigger being the obvious biggest battery of operations difference. You could have compared the Glock to the APX A1 for a more closer comparison. Having said that IMO the px4 is the better of the two again if you like hammer fired. I actually have a PX4 compact carry which is also closer in size of the Glock.

I have the PX4 Storm fs in 40 call, also the compact version. One really cool aspect is the magazine for the full size, fits perfectly in the compact. It just sticks out a little farther from the grip; which gives a better grip for the pinky. Don't care for Glock though.

First. I am a Beretta fan. Back in the day my mother shot competition with a Beretta. (1950's) She taught me how to shoot and she is still better than me to this day. She's in her 80's and has no flinch. Ergonomics make a difference (to me in any case). The PX4 is one one my favorite guns to carry (In 40). The PX4 recoil is different. It's easy to get back on target quickly. I got my wife a PX4 subcompact (in 9mm). She likes it. I am not a fan of Glocks safety systems. Opinions at this point. Sorry. I have never liked 1911's because it felt like I was holding a thin ruler. I do have a Para Ordinance P14 with a double stack magazine that I really like. (Big hands) I have to say that my Beretta 92 (Just 92, no letters after it. I bought it in 1987) is still my favorite. Probably because I have used it for so long. I can hit (some) small moving targets with it. I think in a lot of cases you just need to use the weapon you like the feel of and practice with it. And watch out for people like the commenter at the bottom of this post (Jill Blake), Lots of scams on YT

Late to the review. Great rundown and comparison. Just picked up a PX4 and immediately took it to the range. For reasons yet to be determined, I am consistently more accurate with it than my G17. No slight towards the Glocks, love em but this PX4 is a definite keeper. A fantastic addition for range day!

The grip width of the G19 is 1.26" according to the Glock website. However, the stippled grip width of my G17 is 1.193" according to my micro-calipers. The grip width of my PX4 Compact is 1.206" according to my micro-calipers. Listing G17 first, then PX4 Compact: Weight 25oz/27.8oz, Front strap grip angle according to Glock is 19* whereas claimed grip angle of the PX4 (unverified) is 18*, however appears to be the same as my Ruger 22/45 which has a claimed 17* angle. The G17 length from the rear "beaver tail" to the barrel tip is 7 8/16", and 7 11/16" for the PX4 (3/16", pretty close). Yet, the G17 has a 4.49" barrel, and the PX4 only a 3.2" barrel. G17 height from magazine baseplate to top of rear sights is 5 17/32", 5 18/32" for the PX4 (~same). The PX4 grip is slightly more ergonomic according to my large palm with medium length fingers. The factory PX4 single action trigger has a crisper break and is a better trigger than my modified lighter G17 trigger after take up. Personally, I would choose the Glock action G17 trigger break over any double action trigger. I am new to the PX4 and have yet to shoot it. Just looking at specifications, I would pick the G19 as the winner. Nonetheless, I shoot a little high when I shoot fast with a G19/17 because my muscle memory is stuck at the 17* grip angle, and neither the 19* Glock grip angle or grip ergos are ideal for me. Will find out how my new PX4 works for me as soon as I recover from some medical issues.

The grip width of the G17 at the web of the hand is 1.93", and of the PX4 at the web of the hand at 1.95", essentially the same. But just for giggles, I measured the grip width of my Ruger E9 at the web of the hand and got 1.18"!

Although I love the concept and design of the Px4 Storm, I didn't realize the Storm had a polymer frame! Even though I have a Glock 41 (.45 acp), Ruger LCP .380, and Beretta 92FS, I am getting away from polymer and alloy frame guns and going for all metal (bought a CZ 75B). I just find them more appealing.

Always loved my Px4 Storm (.40) vs Glock 21 (yeah, apples and oranges as far as caliber, I know), but I always attributed being more comfortable with the Storm because it was my first and the one I shot most. Now after spending an equal amount of time with the Glock, the Storm still has my heart, even though the Glock is absolutely gorgeous. Now if I could only have one? I'd sell them both and get the Storm in 9mm just to simplify, but it'd still be the Beretta.

I have both - I love both - but my GLOCK just feels better in my hands. Which leads to me shooting better (more consistent accuracy) with my GLOCK. I'm happy with both and I wouldn't get rid of either. If anything, I'd get the PX4 Carry (I have a full size) as an addition because I would prefer to have a safety on my carry gun - I still may get one.

Curious for anyone who may know . I just purchased the px4 storm compact . Put about 200 rounds through it with no issues . I went Saturday for my ccw qualification course that NJ requires . It’s 10 rounds at 5 different distances . After my first 10 rounds my PX4 would not fire in single action . The hammer would drop with no fire and I’d have to pull another double action to get the next shot . I finished the qualification this way and have to bring the gun back to have it checked out . Anyone know about this malfunction? It seems there may be something with the firing pin block that’s not moving out of the way in single action.

Excellent and detailed review on two of the best handguns in the world. GLOCK's first GEN17 went over one million rounds in testing. The BER STORM tested several with over 150,000 rounds and no parts breakage. Or parts needing replacement. Even 5,000 rounds fired out of these is nothing. I have a BER STORM Full Size coming in .40 cal.. Going to research if available can the +3 extra rounds per magazine be added? Or purchase a 17rd/mag.. PEACE

I own two PX4's. Sure I think Glock will obviously be produced longer than the PX4 but while I like the G19 in theory it doesnt fit my hand very well. I have owned 6 of them and not a fan. The 19X and 17 fit good but my choice the PX4 hands down. I also prefer a hammer fired gun if I have a choice. They each have their own advantages but still I take a PX4 all day. Its my carry.

Glocks jam often, if not cleaned or has worn magazine. Beretta PX4 Storm trigger is way crisper than Glock’s. We have both, and I personally prefer Beretta. Faster recovery time, feels lighter and easier to IWB carry. Unfortunately, it is hard to accommodate a Red Dot on Storm, but from the other hand - never needed.

Im IPSC shooter from Malaysia.. 1st time i am using Glock 19 gen 3 with some mod, DPM recoil spring, compatition stricker spring and disconnector, i get less recoil and the trigger pull around 3.5 lbs... and now I am using CZ P10C with DPM recoil Spring, TOny system striker spring and i get less recoil and 3.14 everage trigger pull.. and now I am considering PX4.. what do thing about it? and on your Opinion.. which one is better?

have you felt the difference in your PX4 storm and a standard non-stainless version? I imagine the stainless is a little heavier?

Both will fire without a magazine, but with a cartridge in the chamber.

For me, I'd take The PX4, mainly because I have a CX4 9mm PCC. That and I just don't like the Glock grip, sights.

I dont have a glock but I do have the px4 storm in .40 and its a great weapon. And from the comments it looks like its berreta by a landslide 😂❤😂

Glock. Better finish, doesn't have a fragile RSA, better availability of everything.

The problem is the beretta has two different trigger pulls. Which is why DA/SA guns have lost popularity. But thats user preference. This is like comparing apples and oranges. But the market has spoken!

the G19 is more comparable to the px4 compact not the full size.

Px4 45 acp is my favorite but I dont have the Px in 9, the 45 holds 9 or optional 10 so restricted state imho better , overall the 45 is prob the same size
