Excellent review! The older I get, the more I appreciate fit and finish and all - steel / alloy pistols like this. The tip up barrel is super cool, and the Covert model with the suppressor ready threading makes this one a gem. So glad I found one and snapped it up! Just got it last week and it’s even cooler in the hand.

I've always liked the Beretta tip-up line of pistols and I have a number of the different models of the Bobcat 21A. I've always been disinterested in the Tomcat until Beretta released their new threaded barrel Tomcats. Great little suppressor host and super fun to shoot.

My EDC is a Beretta 3032 Tomcat Covert with factory wood grips. Although it's small, it has a fairly wide bottom that fills your hand and feels great. I had my gunsmith slick the action up a bit and picked up a DeSantis pocket holster for it. Hardly notice it in my pocket.

Enjoyed the review! A couple note's though... the black Beretta's are notorious for having weak frames so ammo selection should remain under 130 foot pounds of energy. The guns recoil springs are under the grips on either side of the slide and with there not being and extractor, if you have a FTF or FTE the barrel needs to be opened to "dig out" the cartridge to be able to get back to work.

Had the inox version and sold it but kick myself for that now. Bought it as a carry gun and wanted something more substantial in the hand than the Keltec or other mouse guns at the time. It was great but then the "Tiny Niney" guns started coming out and I moved up in caliber. With the Election and Pandemic the current prices are high in my opinion but I will get one again when the hysteria is over. Great videos thanks

I love these guns. Shot one and it's nice and solid. Unfortunately, most all of my guns are purposed based and I chose the Ruger LCP 2 for my pocket carry piece. Being a .380 and extremely lightweight, I forget I have it on me. Both guns are comparable though very different. The 3032 is on my want list, but didnt make the cut for the need list. Great review. Thanks.
@mickmacstabletopreviews84664 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I pretty much made the same choice when it came to pocket carry. I love the Tomcat, but for practical reasons I carried the LPC for quite a few years. Of course I've been pocket carrying a Seecamp for the past two years for even more practical personal reasons. Best Wishes.
@24roughing764 жыл бұрын
@@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 Can I ask which caliber of Seacamp you carry and how you would compare it to the Ruger when shooting? I know it's very small, but I was curious if it is more difficult to shoot (especially the .380) because of its size...even though the Ruger is poly and the Seacamp is solid.
@mickmacstabletopreviews84664 жыл бұрын
Mine is the .32 model. Compared to the LPC, I found the Seecamp .32 to be more comfortable to shoot. That is due to it's all stainless steel construction and smaller caliber and that's with the finger extension on the magazine. Its real advantage is its ease of carry in a front or rear pocket. Nothing beats it. To be honest, it's not a gun i shoot a lot. Just enough to keep in practice. The Winchester Silvertip rounds are expensive at $1 each. Seecamp does offer a .380 model, but it's a handful to shoot. I prefer the .32's control. By the way, I made a video on the Seecamp which you can view. If you subscribe and check out my playlist you'll see it as Episode #202001. Hope this helps.

I briefly owned a Beretta .32 ACP Tomcat pistol back in the early 2000s. It was a used Tomcat and the asking price was close to buying a new Tomcat. The gun store I patronize does not engage in price negotiation or bargaining. Take it or leave it. It turned out the Tomcat was defective. After several rounds the slide locked up along with the trigger. I was definitely annoyed. I wondered if the original owner had simply passed on his defective Tomcat without bothering to get it fixed. I returned the Tomcat to the gun store for repairs, which they did, at no cost and no questions asked. When I got my Tomcat back, I was already thinking elsewhere. The Tomcat was too thick, bulky, and heavy to be a true pocket pistol. The weight is 14 ounces empty. I would have been just as well off buying a PPK. I ended up selling the Tomcat back to the gun store for trade-in credit. I purchased a revolver. The Tomcat didn't sit in the glass counter for long. It sold quickly. I just recently purchased a LW Seecamp. Now that is a true pocket pistol. Too bad it only takes the shorter hollow point .32 rounds, which I already knew about. FMJ .32 ACP is too long to fit in the magazine. The problem is today in 2023 it is very difficult to locate any hollow point .32 ACP anywhere. The ammunition manufacturers are not producing anywhere near the demand and I don't know why.

It's been a while since I posted that review, but for the most part my conclusions then remain the same today. However, to be honest, I haven't carried it for years now. As you say, it's actually a little heavy as a pocket pistol and there are better options today. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. @mickmacstabletopreviews84663 жыл бұрын
Very, very nice. Sounds like a good find. While $550 may seem like a lot, the actual value today for used Beretta Tomcats is at about $500. Stainless with wood grips would probably add a few bucks to that value, so you did good for today's market. Most importantly --- you found one! Yes, you are correct -- in Gallatin, Tennessee since 2017, I believe. Beretta itself was established in 1526 and remains a family business. Beretta firearms have been sold for almost 500 years. Beretta USA Corp. was founded in 1977 in Accokeek, MD from which it supplied the M9 to the U.S. Armed Forces. Today, Beretta-owned companies employ nearly 600 individuals within the United States with locations in Tennessee, Colorado, Maryland, New York, Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Virginia. Great firearms. It's a great gun, but ammo selection is critical with this caliber. You can get expansion with 60gr. hollowpoints, or you can get penetration with 71gr. fmj, but you can't get both. I think I would opt for penetration.
@mickmacstabletopreviews84663 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Yep, I agree with what you say about ammo selection. I would also add that it probably goes without saying that shot placement is important as well. These small guns often require a bit of practice. The ammo doesn't matter if you can't place your shots properly.

You've chosen a good firearm for what you have described as your needs and you recognize the importance of practice. I would add a bit of training as well, especially if you haven't shot a gun for a while. A little refresher training will help you develop the proper skills you need with the firearm you chosen and the practice build your skills and add confidence. Trust me on this. It also goes without saying, be sure to follow your local laws. Best wishes and stay safe.

You noticed that you demonstrated double and single action, dropping the hammer on the chamber with a dummy round in the chamber. But you did it with your left hand at the end of the barrel.
