Cool TNP Gear and other stupid stuff at: www.nutnfancy.bigcartel.com
It’s big and heavy for a 9mm. Very heavy actually because this M92 packs a steel frame. That part has not changed. But several cool details are incorporated into this special Wilson Combat/Beretta M92G collaboration: xlnt grips, checkering, sights, slide milling, and medallions. This M92G is accurate and reliable, easier to keep on target because of the weight. All the important details are covered in this short video, including a look at rapid fire and aimed fire targets. For the price you will get a lot of gun compared to competitive options that offer the same type of pistol (covered). You won’t see me packing one around but for Beretta fans it may be nirvana.

I carried a 92F as a duty weapon for years. I still have it and still shoot it. I have NEVER had a failure attributed to the gun. It is a big gun but, I appreciate the length of the barrel. It is a gun that will last a very long time with proper maintenance. However that can be said about most guns. Thanks.

+Mrgunsngear Channel Yep, if it wasn't for the bulkiness, heavy weight, goofy safety, grip like a 2x4.....come to think of it, the 92 SUCKS and always did, IMHO. Yeah, even this fancy one. If I want to shoot a brick, give me a 1911.

Nutn keeps falsely stating that this has a steel frame. It is a forged aluminum alloy. I am not aware of any model of 92 or m9 that has a steel frame, unlike the sig p series which have steel frame options, although rarer. The extra weight is from the brig slide which is thicker and adds 2 oz.
@coyotebrown2294
@coyotebrown2294 8 жыл бұрын
+zarAK471 I'm betting he saw some reference to "all steel components" which Wilson advertises to show they are using the older style steel trigger, guide rod and decocker, as opposed to the plastic parts on most newer models, and he thought it referred to the frame.

I've found that most failures to lock open on the last round with 92s are user induced, as that slide release hardly requires any pressure to be depressed. You don't even need to ride the release; simply having your thumb touching it can cause trouble.

I've purchased this gun twice. The first time was when it came out last year. I never fired it and decided to sell it back in December. Within one month of the sale I developed sellers remorse and ordered a second one from Wilson. I still haven't fired the second one either. I don't want to get it dirty.

First handgun I ever bought was a Beretta 92G Elite I which I promptly sent off to Ernest Langdon for him to work his magic on back in the day when he was still working on Berettas. He was THE MAN back then and helped Wilson with the design of this pistol. It's probably not going to be your first choice to carry but for the range or nightstand it's chock full of awesome! Hands down the best trigger on any SA/DA gun I've owned or shot. And if you happen to own a Beretta already, it's worth having Wilson work over the trigger and convert it to a G configuration if it's not already.

I like the open slide because it puts more of the weight of the slide very close to your hand. So when it cycles it puts less rotational torque power on you wrist. Combine that with a heavy gun in 9MM and it's very soft shooting. But I agree, home defense or competition. Although... What are your thoughts on a go to war pistol if for some reason you can't carry a primary long gun... Or in a SHTF situation where you want the accuracy and low recoil of this weapon over say a glock and are ok with the extra 10 ounces to get that because you're not carrying a bunch of stuff anyways

Much vilified 92FS but it has never failed me. My original 92FS has close to 30k rounds fired and it's still banging today.
@Jedi391
@Jedi391 8 жыл бұрын
It is largely vilified only by people who had them in the military and used guns that were near the end of their lives, very poorly maintained and used crap mags that didn't work well in sand. Add to that the military's general lack of pistol training and there you go. And then there are people who think anything that's not polymer is too heavy. Incidentally the basic Beretta M9/92 is lighter then the basic Sig P226. It's only .4 ounces lighter but lighter is lighter.

15:04 I had the same issue with one of the magazines for my Bersa Thunder UC 9mm. It turned out that the malfunctioning magazine was the one I had disassembled and (apparently) reassembled improperly, so that the follower in the magazine wouldn't grab the detent in the firearm on the last shot. Very easy to overlook...

Hey nutn, Long time TNPer here, I have several guns you have reviewed and thanks to you have gotten into motorcycles. I appreciate pretty much everything you do from CTA's to GRV's and lots of other acronyms. Steele frame 92's aren't for me, sorry but i thought i would throw that out there (way to heavy, large, and expensive). Ironically i found your channel whilst mentally justifying my purchase of a HI Point. Yea.... My first gun, all i could afford at the time and while i still have it i have since evolved thanks to your tutelage and more than a few trips to the mountains (rocky) or the range. Im sure you have a ton of people who tell you what you should review, and i will not name any specific gun however.... I feel like you have gotten away from budget guns in your GRV's, I may be wrong and I'm sure other people have a different opinion but there it is. Now i know your time is limited. And i know ammo is not free. But there are a ton of guns on the market today that are sub 500$. For that matter sub 300$ that are in my humble opinion adequate to excellent. And there are a crap ton that are not. Now if i were to spend 1,000 to 1,500 on a handgun i would expect it to be excellent and well designed. Unless it isn't, and your warning me about wasting my money on it in which case by all means please tell me all about it. What i find more useful is a video about a 300$ 357, or a 350$ Glock copy, or a 400$ hunting rifle. If i going to take a risk and spend 300$ on a gun that might suck it would be cool if someone reputable (like yourself) gives it an honest review first. Thanks man just a few thoughts from some random internet dude.

Went to a gun show in Florida today and I found this gun for $1495. The seller wouldn't budge on the price because he said it was "collectible and rare". I was hoping for one under $1200 but I don't think that's possible at this point.

It's not. The guy who bought this paid around $1100 IIRC. Your guy was probably in the dark about that sd variant being rereleased...for a while it was getting pricier, but this incorporates all those features and more with indication it'll be a limited numbers release. Keep shopping around, I doubt they'll quit making it anytime soon! tD

I recently found myself comparing which to get, a P226 or a M9A1? For damn near twice the price, I ended up with the P226 Mk25. I chose the SIG b/c out of the box I shoot the SIG better. And knowingly wanting to dump another $500 into a Beretta after the initial purchase, I'd be too impatient. So I've sold a few odds & ends I don't have use for and did a side job to afford a Beretta. I'm looking forward to it.

I think I tend to favor doodles style of carry. right now I'm carrying a bradford guardian 3, a cheap S&W folder, a g19 flashlight I got for free, a cheap pen, some chapstick and a S&W 5inch 686+ iwb. Weight doesn't really bother me at all on a day to day ordeal. I'm kind of a tank though. 6'2" 270 so a few pounds of gun n gear doesn't bug me. I think I'd carry a berreta ccw. if my full size M&P can disappear so can the M9. I will say though big guns can get tedious when you're trying to tuck in your undershirt because until the belt is latched I fine myself fighting the weight.

Surprised he had so much air in the sights at his height. I have been a big beretta fan for a while, just because of the reliability factor. M9, 92 and px4, I have owned em. They aren't perfect in everything. But the quality matches the price point. But for that model in particular I would expect that the front sight be aligned... As for weight, if you are worried about that on a carry out, grab a plastic gun (I'm not a big fan of carrying extra unnecessary weight either).

I'd rather buy a beretta M9A1 then throw some aftermarket parts on it. M9A1 standard cap is 17+1. $500 plus about $200-$300 worth of parts and the end result would be superior imo

The open slide sure saves weight though. I personally love the 92 series - I bought a 92FS after qualifying on it in the USAF (a long time ago). I still own and love it, even after buying numerous other popular 'G' named polymer brands. ;-) For me, it's the easiest pistol to shoot with the most accuracy I own. I'm not saying it's more accurate than any other brand, just that it's easier to shoot accurately.

+Jamal Mckenzie Let's see, I own numerous brands of different firearms, 4 of which happen to be Glocks, but I'm a tupperware carrying Glock fanboy. Whatever you say.

Hey nutn, have you been playing around with pistol red dot sights like the RMR? Any plans on doing a video on the concept? I'm kicking the idea around and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. The biggest Issues I could see with it are cost, training adjustments, and weight (the RMR weighs a little over an ounce so not too bad).

You did not do your homework on this video. It's an aluminum frame, not steel. I also find it ironic that you wouldn't "go to war" with it, yet that's exactly what you, and all of your buddies in the Army and Airforce have gone to war with. Although, we know wearing an M9 bra and riding a desk on a COB isn't exactly "war." Even still, I had medics and squad leaders that carried them and they are durable guns that can withstand abuse. I don't know if polymer framed guns would fair as well.

wish they had made it a frame safety, single action. that would have been ideal for range/competition use.

Did yours have the action job done to it? Mine does and the single action pull is in the 3 lb range. The double action is the smoothest and lightest pull I've ever felt on a sa/da platform. For the money this pistol shocks me.
