Been absolutely in love with my B-14 HMR in .308. Mine is kinda like everyone else's where it is slightly picky with ammo, but with 168's it is golden.

I’m just about to buy that exact same rifle in .308 as well, it’s gonna be primarily my hunting rig, I’m not hunting hills so weight is not a concern. What ammo are you running? I know the gold metal match is arguably the most accurate.308 load but you cannot hunt with it. Any suggestions?

@@NoslerPartition Buy several different varieties and try them all. Find what works in YOUR rifle. My 308 shoots Hornady Match Point the best. Unfortunately it isn’t a hunting round and none of the hunting rounds comes close to it.

Gosh, I’m Bergara fan, have two b14 hmr centerfire, I bought a cz 457 a while back and my wife actually fell in love with it, looks like this might be a support gun, I’ll say it’s for her but use it for whistle pigs and squack

I have Bergara's B-14 HMR in 308, but I did wish they'd use a smaller magazine for their rimfire rifles,... my wish has come true. I'll look forward to this one in the market place.

The original BMR is a great rifle for the money. That one is just adding to a great rifle already. The mag changes on the BMR are way better than the CZ or T1X. I’m surprised it’s not more popular than it is.

I’ve got the BMR with the steel barrel and it looks like the only thing different with the BMR-X is the stock. I found the action to be a bit grainy which has smoothed out the more I shoot it but I do love the 700 style trigger. Also my BMR comes with both the 5 and 10 round magazine so I’m assuming the BMR-X will too. The only modification I’ve done to it is adding an adjustable cheek riser to it and I’m good. I’ve found that Lapua Pistol King gives me the best accuracy but Norma TAC-22 almost gives the same accuracy but are easier to find and much cheaper to buy.

It also has the heavier barrel from the b14r. I believe they call it a number 6 profile whatever that means.

It’ll come with a five round and 10 round magazine and yes as previously mentioned it’s essentially the same barrel and chamber that goes on the B 14 R and also the stock is more rigid than the original BMR. This is designed to be a excellent entry-level rifle for NRL and PRS

Great shooting as always. I’d be concerned with that grippy stock though. That rubbery coating stuff turns to a sticky mess after about 5 years. I have hearing muffs that that happened to.

Thank you for the great review Dave! I've been running a B14R Carbon for the past few years and absolutely love it. Mostly target shooting 50 to 300 yards, with some varmint hunting. The only down side has been the weight, this BMR X looks to be a fantastic solution for someone who wants to target shoot and hunt.

The BMR came out in 2022. Also, the point of the B14R is that its a 1:1 rimfire trainer for the HMR short action guns. Also, the original BMR already comes with a 10 round and 5 round mag, so theyre already out...

Noticed one of the last rounds stayed in the ejector port but you dropped the mag and the spent casing came down with the mag. Pinning the ejector pin will fix it most of the time. Bergara should be made aware of the issue.

This is what I was looking for. I almost bought the B14R, so glad I didn’t. The B14R is too heavy for hunting, the BMR stock is not comfortable. I already have two CZs so no more Cz for me. I considered Tikka T1x, but I don’t like the stock either. This is right what I want, Take my money!

@ For the price CZ is worth every penny. I have CZ452 ultra lux with 28” barrel and CZ453 American. They both very accurate. My friend has Bergara BMR carbon, it’s little bit more accurate than my CZs when use match ammo, with regular ammo like CCI standards, mini mag they shoot the same, but the BMR is 30% lighter than my CZ453 and 50% lighter than the CZ452 ultra lux.

You usually don't break in rimfire barrels like you would on a centerfire. I shot it around 100 times before making the video. Each group from start to finish was about the same.

When I do my bit, I can get similar results with my Lithgow LA101. The Lithgow is heavier and may not be the best choice when hunting on foot.

Are BMRs new to the USA? I’ve had the BMR steel in 22wmr and the BMR carbon in 22LR for nearly 2 years now. And both came with 5 & 10 shot magazines. The only thing new with this BMR-X is the stock (which is very welcomed). I definitely want to upgrade the stock on my BMR Carbon. But yes these rifles absolutely shoot, even with the standard stock they shoot this well.

So, the difference between the BMR Carbon and the BMR X... both match chambers.. ? I have the BMR Carbon and the BXR Carbon, both are match chambers and very accurate with match ammo. Not seeing the value in this 'upgraded' version over my BMR Carbon.

Adjustable trigger (though the original doesn’t need adjusting) and the stock has a flat forend for better rest. But the buttstock looks horrible and losing the cheekriser doesn’t make sense. Best deal is buying the b-14r barrel action and your own stock. Website says nothing about a match barrel that I could find.

Bergara has soured my opinion after buying a CMR Carbon 22lr. I see why three of my friends(squirrel hunters) sent theirs down the road. I have older rifles that will embarrass BMR Carbon any day of the week.

When did Silencer Central/Banish become the go-to brand for every KZbin? Is it some sort of sponsorship they have going on? Their cans are decent, but not the best or groundbreaking. Mercy, OCL, Resilient, and DDC make better cans I believe. I have a OCL 22 and Jessie's girl on order, and they sound better than my friends banished can and even my CGS hydra.

The 22lr "carbon" barrels from Bergara are not true carbon barrels...they are pencil barrels covered with a hollow carbon tube. I'd like to see how the steel barrel shoot. The "carbon" barrel is going to be much more prone to POA/POI shifts due to barrel temp shift.

Your brain does not focus on the word don’t in the phrase “don’t miss” it will only remember “miss” and indeed that’s what the brain causes the shooter to do. This is my perspective as an American High Power Rifleman in Long Range Award Winner. Bottom line is all thought must be on follow through, meaning you command the brain to continue to aim until recoil has subsided . I think the author knows this and I suspect he is highly qualified to profess on this topic.

I shoot norma tac-22 in my Bergara B 14 R trainer and it shoots sub MOA groups all day long at 25 yards 50 yards or 100 yards the Norma ammunition shoots better in my rifle than the eley, sk, or any other so-called match great ammunition
