This man has done his backgroundwork. Indeed. A very good, quick and precise depiction of both history and today's life. Hats off! (From a person born in Bergen).

My compliments to your approach of guiding and exploring. Especially your focus on rubbing against were locals actually live and interact instead of just the museums and tourist traps in the places you visit. I also appreciate your focus on how old cities are reinvented across Europe by pedestrian streets and squares and trams to open spaces in cities instead of moving life to malls outside, it being in little Bergen or Nice. Towns are living places with living humans in the present. The latter is so important. To travel is more than a history lesson of old buildings and paintings. You do a fine job.

10:13 "They were pretty nasty creatures" shaking my head, it's like saying that the Germanic Tribes were "Barbaric" Just like what the Romans and the Greeks would've said, and they considered themselves "Civilized".

The vikings culture was built on war. The only jobs they had were fisherman or tradesman or become a warrior. Romans were very civilised compared to vikings and its not the vikings faults. The weather during winter meant they had to pilledge to get food and money but there religion was wholly built on war and going to valhal

I am coming to Bergen next week, bought a Berger pass that gives free public transport
@denniscallan5 жыл бұрын
Good move. If flying in that includes the tram from airport to town. If you get the Bergen card you also can use the funicular, and 2-hour boat cruise in the harbor, and free or discount admission to museums. Their website says with the card : "You can travel by the Bergen Light Rail to visit Edvard Grieg's home Troldhaugen and Fantoft Stave Church, or by bus to visit for example Old Bergen, Lysøen Island, Voss, the Hardangerfjord or the Aurlandsfjord. Or even to take the bus to Odda."

@denniscallan5 жыл бұрын
All it takes is desire, which you've got, and knowledge, and communication skill, then go look for a job as guide, maybe an Airbnb experience or one of your local companies. I'm sure Morocco can be best seen on foot with a local guide such as yourself.
