Congrats on starting up Bowen Aero - excellent name and very memorable! Really interested to follow your progress on the Beringer wheel and brake setup - especially as a mate and I after 18 months looking for second hand Kitfoxes in Europe finally bit the bullet and put down a deposit on a Series 7. One each :) We’re a little more limited in what we can do in the UK compared to USA, but should still be able to have some serious fun along the way.

That is awesome. You have a great adventure awaiting you with those kits.

Awesome!!! Like the push to talk grip you’ve set up... if I ever do a kitfox or similar experimental set up I’ll get one for sure!!!

Still getting caught up on all your shows with much excitement and enthusiasm.! I am wandering if any of these parts, materials, or accessories are in any made in China.!

Most of Kitfox stuff is made in America. Components of my grips are made in both the USA and overseas.

I'm still perplexed at you complaining that 92 is hot. That sounds like a beautiful day here in NorCal. Maybe it was 10am. :)

Not a fan of the heat at all. I'm an Oregon boy.

Will your grips work on a Highlander?
@BowenAero5 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely. Kitfox, Rans, Just Aircraft and any others using a 3/4" control stick.

Great name and great idea. I love the concept of using lock on bike grips. Will your solution work with Oury brand lock on grips?
@BowenAero5 жыл бұрын
Yes, as long as they have a top and bottom clamp.

Whether the brakes are good or not (I’m sure they are lol), they sure do look nice ;)

And they stop great. Prefect combo.

Great job Have the same foam like grips on my kitfox 7 and they keep sliding up and down. I am willing to give the new grips a try. They look great. Side note: I tried e-mailing Beringer Brakes on my build to install them but they never answered me back.
@BowenAero5 жыл бұрын
These grips shouldn't move at all. Sorry you didn't hear back from Beringer, that is where I come in. You will always get a response and help from Bowen Aero. Email me at bowenaero@yahoo.com if you would like to discuss upgrading your brakes.

Granny Smith to Honey Crisp comparison when changing two components at the same time brakes and tires IMHO.
@BowenAero5 жыл бұрын
In regards to weight or the stopping power? I guess you could make an argument that the new tires have more grip, but I doubt it would make a measurable difference. The weight of the 26" Airstreak bushwheel and the 29" ultralight bushwheel are the same so again not much difference, but if I ever dismount the wheel, I will weigh just the rim for reference.
@iffykidmn81705 жыл бұрын
@@BowenAero 29'' tires also creates higher AOA which should have increased drag while braking thus also effecting braking distance, Also while brake testing did you note wind direction and speed during both tests? Just making an observation of changing two components at the same time one could effect the other. Really enjoying your content looking forward to your next video.

The brakes look great. In certified world you would not see the line tight between the calipers like that though. They always have a bit of extra length and a curve. Just sayin...

Suggestion: It only costs about $20.00 or less to register your own domain name. You could register "BowenAero" dot com, and have your email address as Sales@BowenAero dot com for cheap as well. Just a thought, but don't wait too long on that thought. Some scum might register it just to keep you from getting it!
@BowenAero5 жыл бұрын
That particular domain has been taken, but I have one that works and will be doing as you suggested. Thanks for the advise.

I'm going through what must be akin to the same process of the avg soon to be heroin addict... I'm at the phase where I've decided I'm going to build my own kitfox. After getting my cert in 1992, at 25 life happened and I had to put my desire to fly aside... now at 52 I've been jonesing to fly again, then I found Trent Palmer and the Cowboys... Then the rest of this rag-tag "community"... I'm in Wichita Kansas the home of aviation (Cessna, Hawker/Beech, LearJet/Bombardier and a slew of small mfg) buuuuuuut I gotta build myself a Kitfox or a Highlander... I gotta go bush plane... She's gonna kill me... Not sure yet, anybody have recommendations and logic?
@russellsmith38255 жыл бұрын
@raging_rhino once you get your plane ready, Kansas has a brand new state park with lots of canyons that are begging to be explored from the air.

@@BowenAero don't get me wrong, You do good videos I like it. Just aviation is too deep for my pockets and im 68 yrs old. And its gonna get worse all over. I tried to get a sport pilot license but nobody in Kansas will instruct sportpilot.. Also the old saying you get what you paid for.
