Als Kind habe ich beide Seiten erlebt. Den Ostteil habe ich als grau und menschenleer in Erinnerung

Berliners are really resilient and strong people. Their city had pogroms, genocide, war, bombings, even a tank standoff which almost got them nuked, then it was divided in two by a wall, and somehow, after 50 years of suffering, in 1990 the people came together, tore down the wall, and celebrated like all that never happened. And now, you can't even tell the city was ever divided. Very resilient city for all they've suffered through.

Just a modern scraped together hodgepodge of soul less buildings. What a shame the Real Berlin was totally destroyed.

Why are there still officers walking at the border areas? I mean, before the Wall came, people still used to cross East-West without issues, right?
