As a working musician, in my opinion - it's perfectly valid to sing 'Drive' as an Ocasek tribute. It was the group's biggest international hit...and was written by him. We did the same a few days after his death with 'Just What I Needed' - another tune written by Ocasek - and sung by Orr. We dedicated the song to the two of them. Seems all good...as long as the intention is to honor the artist(s)..

Dahoss Its a beautiful song. Not to mention it was the video that led him to the love of his life, Paulina. It meant so much to him personally.
@CBGB_19775 жыл бұрын
Dahoss Yes. But they were still very close. They had a very ammicable split. She said when they separated that "a car runs great when all the wheels are working, but riding a bicycle when the wheels no longer synch simply means you get off the bike. We are still a family. Although we have a love so great it's tangible, we just weren't in synch anymore. We will forever be family and will share family time a lot in the future." Paulina was taking care of him along with their 2 sons after he was recovering from a recent surgery. Paulina found him in bed when he passed. He was surrounded loved and cared for. Sometimes love isn't enough to keep a marriage together, but it doesn't have to mean they didn't still love each other.

@amb27455 жыл бұрын
@Greg Hubbard Frank did actually mention Something as "his favorite Lennon/McCartney song", so there's some truth to Ol' Blue Eyes saying that. George Harrison, when he was touring in the early to mid '70's would use a line Frank would sing on the song "You stick around Jack, she may show" when George sang Something live.
