Flammpanzer 38 is what the "laser" barrel is for, its a Flamethrower variant, about 50 were made.

The bare schurzen rail is just that - so you can model tanks with just the rails and no schurzen; or, you can cut the rail off the schurzen, clip some of them off and stick the remainder to the bare rails so have tanks which have lost some of the plates as can be seen in some period photos. It's not hard to do and adds some nice variety to your units. Oh, and metal infantry are best. Fact. 😉

Came for the review, stayed for the history, it’s definitely a unique and very welcomed twist, always nice to understand the background information and history behind a set , great review and great video, also the Pz.IV J and Panther D were the late war “budget” Versions

regarding the difficult sprue gates eg the bow machine gun, one little trick you can do if you dont have or are concerned using an blade or clippers, is an hot needle, heat it in an flame/on your stove for an bit and VERY carefully(its hot after all) use the needle to melt the sprue gate connecter off. has worked for me an couple times, ideally an sharp hobby knife works best, but if you want an alternative xd.

The only thing the luchs had in common wlwith the earlier panzer 2s was the armament. Basically everything else was different. Different Hull, different suspension, different engine and drive train, different turret, different track links, etc.

Perhaps the Panzer IIs were vehicles from the training school's tank pool to train crews. A small, reliable tank to train new drivers makes sense to me. They'd suffice for reconnaissance work, and, let's face it, a third rate tank is better than no tank.

​​@@nathantudor5763 more or less that, it's more like a Marder but on the panzer 1 chassis. It is equipped with the 75mm cannon taken from a stug 3. There is a picture of him in the book: panzerwrecks 2.
