Wiederaufbau, Wiederaufbau, Wiederaufbau! Wir können noch so vieles ändern in den Jahren, wenn wir es nur wollen. Monumente wie die Frauenkirche haben im Wiederaufbau kein Jahrhundert gebraucht und dies können wir mit mehreren Gebäuden, vor allem wenn sie weniger monumental sind gleichzeitig machen.

​@ArchitekturTV There was so much devastation to so much of Germany that it is beyond compression... The area of Berlin, which is one of the biggest losses for me, is around Wilhelmstrasse and Wilhelmplatz, Das Hotel Kaiserhof etc, etc, etc... 😢 I started to read 'The Fire - The Bombing of Germany 1940-1945' by Jorg Friedrich in 2017, but I became so horrified by it that I still haven't finished the book.

When you see it so starkly like this, Berlin lost so much. The city is alive and vibrant again, but for me, the biggest loss is the area around the Leipziger and Potsdamer Platz and the loss of both the Anhalter and Potsdamer Stations as well as the infamous Haus Vaterland. What I wouldn’t give to stroll the streets of Berlin in 1932 and take in what a wonderfully naughty city before the jackboot Berlin was. I would have loved to have seen the Pariser Platz as it was with the original Adlon Hotel, the Potsdamer Platz and the Kaiserhof Hotel. Even the Wilhelmsplatz in its original configuration. All of this majesty lost because of one really bad government. Berlin is and always will be, my favourite city.

Berlin city palace has been completely rebuilt while sadly though it has never ever rebuilt the spree facade of the Renaissance palace which I find this rather appalling and upsetting😢

Was viele ausser Betracht lassen: Bevoelkerung Deutschland 1920: 61Mio (bei groesserer Landflaeche) 2022: 84Mio. Und heute lebt man auf mehr Wohnflaeche.

What a tragedy !This is what Allied bombing ,a Russian Army invasion , socialist governments in the west and communist governments in the east, along with well intentioned foreign architects and graffiti pests can do to a beautiful city!

Ich verstehe nicht wieso nicht viel mehr wiederaufgebaut wird. Es könnte so einfach sein. Das Steuergeld mal für Rekonstruktionen zu verwenden anstatt für illegale Migranten. Ich appelliere an alle die AfD zu wählen. Die AfD hat sich schon des Öfteren für mehr historische Rekonstruktionen in deutschen Innenstädten ausgesprochen!

Hier sieht man mal wieder die Intelliegenz eines AfD Wählers. Hei wach mal auf Dein Adolf H., falls Du es blickst, wen ich mein, hat Berlin durch seinen 2. Weltkrieg zerstört und kaputt gemacht und nicht irgendwelche danach, mein Gott, wie kann man so verschränkt sein, aber wähl nur weiter AfD, die Partei der blöden frustrierten Schmierlappen, wirst dann schon sehen, wie unser tolles Deutschland untergehen wird, wenn die Dödel an der Macht sind. Ausserdem gehört es sich, dass alle AfD Wähler 50% Ihres Bruttolohnes zum Wiederaufbau des alten Deutschlands als Reparation hergeben müssen, Ihr leckt doch heute noch Eurem Adolf die Füsse und sonst noch was. Grüsse von nem wirklichen demokratischen deutschen Patrioten
