Drederick Germany was the aggressor who started the war when they invaded Poland. Nobody argues that point. As for America attacking Germany first, it was Germany that declared war on America first. On December 11, 1941. So America responded.

Stanley Pelkins Yes, sounds great - with one "if". You have a huge debt - we don't. You rob the world and we don't = ) Russia and China are working hard to squeeze out and limit US dollars in international trade. Imagine hyperinflation when even 1/10 of US dollars which are now outside US will come back to America. Anyway good luck to US - you are so great! I am happy that your analysis is so primitive, hope most of US citizens are like you...it will make the job of Russia, China and BRICS a lot easier ;)

You think the survivors right after the war could be bothered to waste resources on ornamented and historicist buildings when said resources were sparse and millions of homeless were in need of housing? Also, building stuff like this today is just too costly. Private companies, who construct most buildings nowadays, see them as a speculation scheme. Of course they would want to build something as cheaply as possible, not to forget the dwindling number of professional sculptors and masons capable would further increase costs.

That’s what’s so fascinating about 1900s Berlin. A city that saw the rise and fall of 5 separate nations/countries. In a short 80 years it experienced Imperial/Weimar Germany, a rebirth into the third reich, followed by the dramatic rise and violent destruction of a monsterous blood thirsty national identity. Then yet another rebirth as a people divided into two new nations, forced to be at their neighbors throats for half a century. And lastly the painful dissolution of that divide and forced reintegration of their divided people back into yet again a new nation.

Troughout history and all over the world, the majority of a society consist out of good people. Also in the unfortunate times in Germany. Not every member of the national socialist party was a murderer and not every supporter of the party was evil. For that reason it will remain paradoxal that history happend as it did. As a neighbour of Germany, many have been mad, but we are also intelligent enough to understand how it got to that point. After the war, our countries united with the founding of the EU. Maybe something positive now, but it can turn into imperialism in the future. The greater intrests become, the greater the danger of imperialism. Germany recoverd and i hope our beloved Europe will go into the right direction as NONE have influence on it's course. Een schone dag gewenst!

@@qopiqq3629 It has nothing to do with that. The only reason it looks like that is because the government has absolute power. For example no homeless people because they are arrested, large public works funded by the government, no graffiti vandalism due to extremely harsh penalties. What you see is a city created by the government so it is perfect. This is what 100% governmental control looks like because they have the power to create whatever type of city they want. Look at North Korea it has no vandalism the streets are orderly and perfect with massive public monuments. Hitler spent massive amounts on social welfare programs. Massive projects were created just to give people work. Massive changes were made for the city to look like that. For example volks wagon was an idea to bring cars to the average german. Communist moscow would have looked like this as well. The capital city is a symbol of the parties power. Look up certain areas of moscow they have amazingly massive monuments in what looks like a future city. Compare that to New York where everything is privately built which creates chaos. Nobody is killed for vandalism or homelessness. Buildings can look run down and shit because the government is not going to make anything nice it is all up to what the free market wants to spend. Freedom is ugly because people are not perfect like these cities pretend.

makes me sad that Berlin in 1936 was literally more developed and had higher living standards than Ankara in 2016. 80 years have passed and still we haven't reached this level in transport, infrastructure, city planning, areas for leasure time etc. Even though we invited German architects to design Ankara's important buildings and streets we haven't kept it up as we should have. Just shows that some nations aren't destined for good things

People who lived back then, especially historics, told that it was much worse than today, especially the life quality. But yes, this is a propaganda video, why should it show you any bad? People died earlier, more painfully, violence against woman was accepted (a man had to do what a man had to do), violence over all was more accepted, if you didn't like violence, you were a wimp and a looser. Much more people died on the streets than with todays oh so criminal aliens, so exactly how was it better back then? Tell me.

It's not 1936! The Siegessäule was not moved in to the park and had an added 4th ring until 1938! Also Hitler's New Reichschancellery was not built until 1939. The voice over is completely wrong saying it's Herrmann Göring's Luftwaffe. I suspect the voice over is original and some one has put random footage of Berlin in the 30's with it. I work as a guide in Berlin and I am a Historian. I am only watching this noticing the discrepancies because it's interesting, scary and fascinating to see my city before it was destroyed.

Even if our union is not even close to as well executed as the USA, it has managed to keep peace in Europe for almost a century already, and it doesn't seem like things will go down again any time soon, simply because noone but our outside rivals will benefit from this. @MarsToRover Those were the days the government would create employment in public work, like the whole auto-bahn network. Now, go fight with the other plebs for your rice from the private sector.
