At the inquest into the sad death of the four boys in the Fiesta the went off the road and drowned in North Wales, not too far from you, it was reported the the rear tyres were only inflated to half the psi needed when four up. This may have been only about 15 psi. This caused effects similar to what happened to Bella and Bob. Stay safe everyone and check your tyre pressures regularly.

I've had a moment when one of the rear wheels of my Twingo had a slow steady leak. When cornering, i could feel that one outside wheel doing something weird. Either breaking traction or trying to roll over. Tyre pressure is very important. I almost exclusively ride motorcycles now - but on those, even just 0,3 bar below the standard pressure (2,5 bar, give or take) is already very noticeable so i don't really get caught out by a dangerously low pressure on them.

I fit Klarius Exhausts at work, never have a problem with them. Depending on issue at work we either fit Ford block rubbers (ESM54) or Fiat Punto mk1/2 back box rubbers (ESM230). As for the tyres someone somewhere has fitted Bella with Berlingo Van size tyres. You can get Falken A/S tyres in that size. You Could also do with either (Extra Load) XL Spec or even 175/65R14C Van Spec Tyres as you use Bella for Towing - Added Stability.

The new rubbers were the correct size. They are supposed to be a struggle to fit which is why there is a special tool for removing them if you're a lover of special tools. A dab of silicone grease is my go to lubrication method. A couple of blows from a rubber hammer, if required, is all you need to pop them on. Richard

regarding the exhaust: 'adapt and overcome' as the old saying goes. often what is to had can be the best fix even if its not perfect. I have a drawer full of various sealants and mastics so would have fitted it and then plugged the gap with one of them. Falken is an excellent choice of tyre. back in the mid 90s I had a set of Falken Gs' on my Scirocco GTX and they were very grippy predictable and neutral at the limit.

A good tip that my son showed me when I was having issues with the rubber hangers is once it is fitted to the vehicle put a plastic pull tag around the outside of the clamp to hold it together. It will still work the way it should but the weight won't pull through the holes in the rubber mount

It's never a quick job on a berlingo, i saved myself the pennies and headaches, cut the flange off the end of the centre section and sleeved a length of stainless pipe over it, clamped it and made a fence wire hanger for the tailpipe, it ran like that for 4 years, only 1 advisory once the remaining exhaust rubbers broke and were replaced with wire👌👌🤣

Many years ago i made a pair of scaffolding board ramps for jobs like this drive on or reverse on and even just being three stepped planks high enough clearance for jobs like this and safe and when finished they stack together snuggly as on thick plank for storage and the longest plank aids safe run up than those awful metal ramps and no jacking required

I had a classic Beetle many years ago and whatever tyres I fitted to the rear, it would terrifyingly oversteer, especially on roundabouts. I never crashed the thing, but the cure was to fit oversized tyres slightly under pressure.
@HubNut3 ай бұрын
Believe they have very low front tyre pressures to try and encourage understeer rather than oversteer, but hanging the engine out the back was always going to be problematic.

Klarius are what used to be the old budget brand TIMAX - made near Stoke On Trent in a little town called Cheadle. They are not the greatest quality, but reflected in a pretty reasonable price, so even if it only lasts 3 - 5 years it's good enough for the old Berlingo. Tyre date codes do go WWYY, so yes, even though its cracked and perished its still made in 2021. I guess its a cheap Chinese brand and you get what you pay for.

I've bought an incorrect tyre before for my 206. I'd gone onto BlackCircles, entered my registration, and been offered measurements for 165/70 13 and 175/65 14 width. I assumed it was 175 so I ordered an H (82)... however, the car took 185s. Slight embarrassment and a tenner later to send the incorrect tyre back, and I got a 185/65 R14 H (86) two days later. It was a Falken Ziex ZE-912, quite topical. As an aside, this was a replacement for one I'd gotten, as a pair, two months prior and managed to get a bulge in the sidewall, so I really should've known that I was ordering the wrong size. I never trust a tyre website to return the correct measurements anymore as a result, though I do occasionally enter my registration just because I'm curious as to how much "out" the suggestions are. I actually tried searching on that vehicle again a moment ago and got the same measurements listed above.

I've gone back to Michelin on my daily drive Volvo and they're lasting a lot longer than the Pirellis that were on it, tried Continental a couple of years ago, they don't last long at all, wear down far too quickly.

Did I mention skinning my knuckles and cutting my hand and grit in my eye with WD40 in my mouth and eye, casing me to bank my head on the back axle or diff.
