Cette pièce de Berlioz m'évoque toujours De Funes, chef d'orchestre dans la Grande Vadrouille. Ici, superbe transcription où l'on retrouve "de l'orgueil, bon sang !".

What a fabulous surprise, my favourite organist playing my favourite organ!! It's wonderful to see Jonathan putting this magnificent Willis organ through it's paces, playing this lively march. Brilliant! Thank you both. xx

I agree it’s a grand organ although it’s much fairer to call it the Willis/Harrison & Harrison Organ. The original Willis is intact but it was far too small for the size of the concert hall so H&H added a whole new organ that is bigger by itself that the original Willis.

I was able to listen to this piece during the pre-concert broadcast on BBC 3. I have really enjoyed the whole prom concert and loved Jonathan's explaining about organ and his transcriptions ( mostly of the Overture 1812).It is fantastic to hear the magnificent organ of Royal Albert Hall again!

❤ from first second, the sound of this instrument feels very different to my ears, comparing to most church organs. Can You help Us to feel why? For me the technical way to record in this rounded prestigious hall, is providing this brilliant sound, perhaps it is the registry You chosen, seems you could do a video on that subject, specific to this Hall and your proper feeling, as player for One and Royal Albert Hall Listener in the middle? I lived in Amiens, France Where we have a circus stone Hall, dedicated by Jules Vernes, I know the sound is very special, can listen someone talking in the middle, without a mic, brighting voices and in the same time echoing a small delay, you don't find in churches, as the Hall is more a long building. However, this Hall is dedicated to orchestral music, so it is an essential component of what we listen, and the organ is perhaps a more copper one, more symphonic than Churches ones?
