Amazing work! One quick question: any reason for not doing closed channel stitching like the original? It’s amazing work regardless but that blind stitch is such an amazing aesthetic.

Blind stitch comes at an extra cost but also for these shoes the customer mention to make it stand out some with color so not to over do it but have just right color pop visible stitches looked nicer

Cobblers Plus Inc. dude I love the 5.11 wardrobe btw. I am from CO and was a cop in Morrison until 2006 and I still have my 5.11s. They last forever!

But don't you in fact replace the heel block anyway? The most leather blocks you disassemble look so disrupted afterwards, and need to be glued back together that I don't think it's cheaper or better to fiddle it back together instead of take a need fibre board block out of the rack and simply put it back on the shoe. And nobody should wear the soles down to the block. And after two new toplifts, the sole is ready to be replaced.

We try to save the original heel blocks because they fit that shoe just right. With a new heel block no mater how good a cobbler is the feel will still be off a little. Along with a resole it can really feel like a completely different shoe where just changing the sole can be broken in easier.
