@@nathanhill6042 absolutely. I plan on getting a pair in a couple of months. There is a great Australian brand called RM Williams that used to make boots in Australia now they are all made in China. These books here made by Nick’s are top shelf.

A Sunday morning and a new video from Nick's ... perfect! To all the moms/artisans at Nick's who make these works of art, happy Mother's Day! And thanks for the videos. I congratulate you for the high quality of the boots you produce, I especially admired the boots made of Bison leather. Since there is an economic crisis in Turkey, we have to work for 20 -25 days to get the boot you produced, so I only see it on the PC screen.

What is that operation at around the 1:00 minute mark? If it's thinning, does that convert the panel from a full-grain panel to a top grain panel?
@aaronminkenberg8386 Жыл бұрын
its is only thinning the leather, the grain is still intact, but some "flesh" is cut away
@Sharif-ln2qk Жыл бұрын
@@aaronminkenberg8386 thanks. The hide looks super-rugged and durable. They say kangaroo is the most durable/toughest but I don't see how given the texture of bison or even elephant hide

Skiving
@Sharif-ln2qk Жыл бұрын
@@jeffr0 does skiving ever thin it to the point of making it top grain leather or must the skiving be done to the top of the panel for it to result in it being top-grain? I guess I’m not following how leather goes from full grain to top grain
@jeffr0 Жыл бұрын
@@Sharif-ln2qk I'm not an expert, but skiving thins the leather so it can be folded or sewn to another piece without bulging

Wow I do enjoyed the craftsmanship watching the making of this boot. Tis my dream to get a pair of Nicks. Where do you all purchase your tools. The plier/ hammer in the beginning was something I would buy in a minute. I’ve read that Bison is tougher then Cow leather. My one question is why does Nick use 8 oz Cow hide rather Bison for their wildland fire fighting boots if Bison is so much tougher? Or am I mistaken and this is just a choice.

Dear team Greetings, Excellent, no doubt you guys are preparing the masterpieces for the safety of others. I would like to request to your whole team to comply with safety rules and regulations at all time. Never compromise on your safety, use all the required safety gears at work. Please use suitable containers for holding the material like steel nails/screws than month. It is very unsafe and life threatening act. My love & Prayers ❤💐🇦🇪

Does the arch portion of a hard leather insole conform to your foot like the forefoot does? I'm used to flat insoles and I'm breaking in some high-heeled boots with high arch support, and it feels like walking on a lump under my arch. Will the hard leather actually conform under my arch or does the foot just learn to ignore the lump?
