Scalping Bermuda grass in the spring is a must, unless you want to see the brown stolons from the previous year through the green new growth.

@@matthesson5618 This is only for Bermuda though. Basically, if you want to maintain your lawn at 1" HOC, then you'll have to scalp at the start of spring down to 3/4" or lower.

So from what I can tell Rotary will work but is kind of boring and Reel mower is fun and the way to go. I like it!
