I know this line well. It still looks almost exactly the same. The silos at Schwarzwasserbrücke have disappeared. There is now an ice field. There are trains, but it's more like a rural tramway, the speed is low and there's a long wait in the stations before the journey continues.

Very nice film, brings back the eighties, where i experienced Swiss railways. The voice over is somewhat metallic, Jiskefet type of voice

Haha! The voice was recorded on the original balance track of magnetic stripe of the film. Its audio quality was... not great! But speech was understandable, even with the very limited frequency range. Noise reduction also added a layer of strangeness to the sound, but it helped with the clarity. I could have chosen to re-record the commentary track, but I just preferred keeping as much as possible in its original state. I short: I agree! 😁

Ha! I did not worry! Striving for perfection is silly anyway. With super-8 as the basis, there is no chance of perfection at all. That doesn't matter. I try to get the maximum out of my old films, which costs loads of time (probably about 6 or 7 full working days for this little film alone!) but the thing is: it gives me pleasure to see them at their best. If others enjoy them, that is a big bonus but it's not why I put in the time. Anyway: thank you! Appreciate your comments!
