The sign of a well-written song is it is adaptable to many singers and styles

Dear Brits! Bernard Butler is definitely the best guitarist for you (we in Eastern Europe know this well!)

This is my favourite Suede song. Never heard this version before, I'm loving it

Great version of this classic and makes sense with it being more of a country version with Bernards voice

Terrific adaptation. Brett’s vocals are a tough act to follow especially on dog man star where I think he’s had some singing lessons to further strengthen a very distinctive voice. So this version works really well with a more softly sung tone.

As a Suede fan, as much as Richard Oakes was a more than adequate replacement (if different), he never managed to nail this song quite as good as BB does here. The difference between playing the music you wrote compared to playing a version of a song perhaps.
@roboliver998010 ай бұрын
Oakes created some legendary riffs but something about those first two suede albums is timeless.

Oakes is good but Butler is a virtuoso.

The outro on the recorded version never existed with Bernard. It was added after he left. He has added it back here.

It's come to my knowledge he's fully sorted things out with Brett, Ed Buller and the rest of the band and stands behind the album as a whole nowadays althougj not being involved with some productional choices.

Wait. It was capo’d on the record? F&cksticks. That explains why I could never play the electric part.
@drspeller22722 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. Some notes sound like they're played on open strings which aren't capo'd. For example there's an F# chord with the two top strings open. Course there could be more than one electric. Cheers!
