My grandfathers were 2 big influential people in my life, I believe they helped me to be a person who can communicate and relate to the many thousands of people I've met. After I lost my last grandad in 2010, I was asked by a friend who I'd pick as honoury grandads now mine we're gone, I picked Bernard Cribbins and Norman Wisdom, my friend changed one of his choices to Bernard Cribbins too. I've always seen him as a true Gentleman, to put him in the class of my grandfather's is the highest praise I can bestow on anyone. May you rest in peace Bernard , God bless you

Was never a big fan of the whole ‘Doctor/Donna’ era (I found it a little silly), but the thing that made it more than tolerable for me was Bernard Cribbins. He made every scene so warming, humorous and entertaining in a very special way. The whole country will miss him, he was brilliant in everything he did. RIP Bernard Cribbins, the world is a colder place without you

I grew up in southern Ontario, Canada in the 70s, and one TV station broadcast the Bernard Cribbins Show, and I fell in love with him. He was funny and clever, a brilliant actor, and his music was mezmerising - Right Said Fred, When I'm Cleaning Windows, Hole in the Ground, etc. And later, when I saw him on Dr. Who, I was amazed at his ability to do dramatic roles. A truly talented actor. Bernard, we miss you.

Inevitably, there will be a dedication to him in a future episode. I really hope they hold off putting it into the Centenary Special and wait till the 60th Anniversary to do it. He really deserves it and may he rest in peace ✌️🤲

It was the first thing I saw on twitter when just waking up and let's just say I've been sad ever since. I can say I actually performed "The Hole in The Ground" at aged what 15 (I'm 27 now) to my music teacher for a sort of presentation, bare in mind I did my schooling in Norway so that music teacher was VERY confused (Half British means you get perks of growing up with British telly and music) 😂

I hate to say it but I actually predicted this when those set photos had leaked. It looked like he was in a wheelchair in the photos I saw and he did not look like he was in good health. I had hoped that I was wrong and he'd at least still be around when the episode aired. I'm fairly certain the episode already finished filming over a year ago because Jodie Whittaker had mentioned in an interview that she already filmed her regeneration scene and was completely done with filming. It's really just a matter of waiting for the BBC to actually release the episode. I don't know why they do it this way, the season plus the specials were all filmed a year in advance so they've essentially just been sitting on the finished episode this entire time. But to be fair given his health problems they may never have been able to film the episode with him in it if they hadn't started filming so far in advance.

In honor of Mr. Bernard Cribbins, Russell T Davis should write a story about either having Wilfred mott being a secret future incarnation of The Doctor, who through events helps his younger self and his granddaughter make the decisions we see in the stories to feature him. Or have The Doctor travel with Wilfred Mott as a Child and by the end, he promises to keep his Adventures in Time and Space a secret from his family and friends. That would explain why he is so keen on Donna traveling with the Doctor to do some Good because he knows how good it is because he himself did it when he was young. Plus it would explain his connection with The Doctor that we saw in his appearances in the show because he had a connection to The Doctor as a child, perhaps in a Father and Son-like dynamic. God Bless You Mr. Bernard Cribbins and may you Rest in Peace and never be forgotten.

Rest In Peace Bernard u will be missed a lot of us American fans mainly know him through doctor who cause a lot of actors who do the show are primarily English actors/actresses who rarely work in America if at all so we only know of them through the show Wilfred Mott was one of the standouts from the Russell era of the show even I prefer the moffats era a bit better Russell gets better in season 3 mainly cause the overrated rose is gone cause fans putting rose on a pedestal ruined the character for me

R.i.p to one of the best actors ever Bernard will be missed to no end by everyone from the doctor who fan base Also fun fact the scene with the paint ball gun was actually his idea, he called Russel and said “what if I hit a dalek with a paint ball gun!” “Ok Bernard ok” with a never ending smile around Russell’s face 🤣😭 He will be missed and I carnt wait to see him in the 60th We salute you Bernard

I loved his line just after Rose obliterated that Dalek with her BFG (!)....he holds up the paintball gun and says "D'you want to swap?". He was a gifted performer and total gentleman in everything he did; I remember him from my childhood in the '60s, and he's always been around somewhere on telly.... seeing him come back into Dr Who was a real treat after seeing him all those years back in the second Dalek film of the '60s in the cinema when it first came out! RIP Bernard...and thank you for all the wonderful memories.....
