So when certain fighters aim high and want to make it to the top, they sometimes have to step back and re calculate their plan of attack. They will go down in weight for the fight and will put the weight clauses on themselves. If Benavidez fought the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev and pulled it off, it would give him even more leverage against Canelo but even at David's supposed most desperate he continues refusing to take risks like Canelo did. When Benavidez rushed to fight at 175 and requested the fight be named eliminator (which made no sense considering they were set to rule on his 168 status this month), some people thought it was because David was interested in fighting the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev but Benavidez SR said they didn't want that fight, in other words he's just posturing to stay fighting leftovers. No surprise considering David already ducked a previous 175 title shot after dropping his belt and ducking champs back at 168. It was Canelo who unified 168 after David ducked out on the division and challenged 2 champs at 175 in the division David refuses to fight for a title period.

This fight is a much better fight than the benavidez fight. You don't see Crawford or Spence giving boots a chance to make a name, or Ortiz. Benavidez is a weight bully, just wait until he fights someone like bivol or beterbiev.
