I think Canelo actually has a good chance of winning. He is faster and his defense is pretty good. I can forsee Kov having a hard time connecting. I think that's the narrative they want to write to boost sales. The reality is that Canelo has a great chance of stopping this version of Kovalev by slipping past the jab and taking the fight to the inside, which he excels at. The only way Sergey wins is if he turns back the clock, steps forward with the menacing pressure that made him famous and bullies Canelo at range like GGG did to him in their first fight. But I honestly think the damage has been done, and Kov won't be able to avoid or take an accurate body shot from Alvarez.

People say Kovalev is old but in boxing a fighter is only done when their legs are gone, that's the reason Manny Pacquiao even at 40 could still beat fighters in their prime because he still has the legs. Kovalev although he's not the fighter he was years ago he still is one of the most dangerous fighters at light-heavy, he can still move and box on top if the fact that he has an incredible jab, long reach, good distance management, spacial awareness and most importantly pinching power. Dangerous fight for Canelo if he pulls off the win I would be very impressed

Yeah that's something people overlook. Canelo has been very close to 175 pounds for many of his fights. His power is not as good at this heavier weight but the stamina and sufficient speed still remain on his side. If Canelo wins, it's because of volume of activity. If Kovalev wins, it will be because of effective jabs and straight rights. Any way, I'm watching this fight.

Nah, I'll be surprised if Canelo gets KOed. Canelo is verrrry solid. He survived GGG twice. I don't count Jacobs because Jacobs kinda did nothing. Canelo is not fighting young guys who are good and strong and in their prime. We know that he waited the most that he could to make GGG slow down a bit. I knew that Jacobs didn't bring anything pretty special for their fight. Canelo always bring something special, but he picks his opponents at the right time. Kovalev is READY TO BE TAKEN. Canelo would have impressed me more if he took on Andrade, Charlo, Callum Smith, Bivol, Beterbiev or Gvozdyk. Kovalev showed willingness to win, BUT he showed so much weakness in his last fights. Canelo picked the weakest title holder at 175. Good name for him when he beats him, since Kovalev is so accomplished, but boxing analysts like myself know that once it gets past 6 rounds and with that body work, that Kovalev will slow down well enough to let Canelo take over, outpoint and possibly stop Kovalev. Canelo picked Kovalev right now and for a reason. But understand. I am ROOTING for Kovalev in this fight. I don't approve Canelo for taking this fight. Going up in weight the way he does is great, but once he beats Kovalev, he'll get too much credit for the real value of that victory, based on what I already mentioned in this post.

It's just promotions to sell a fight. Eleider Alvarez beat Kovalev because his defense is terrible. Ward beat Kovalev because his defense is terrible. Any fighter facing Canelo that has terrible defense has a 75% chance of losing. The only way Kovalev wins is to catch Canelo slipping.
