I haven't heard this dude speak a lot, but the points he's making were all obvious 5 years ago if you actually watched Wilder come through against tier 2 fighters. I was definitely talking about it 5 years ago, all he ever used to do was jab for 9-11 rounds against these smaller guys until they were weak enough for him to land his power punch. Don't act like he or anyone else is making a good point by making that point now.

@rockn roll what Wilder needs is more than just small adjustments... He needs a complete do over... What he lacks, tbh, is what makes a boxer a "boxer"... He lacks the Basic Head movement and basic footwork skills and the simple defensive strategies needed to just be a contender--- let alone a champion... and at heavyweight, nevertheless? Real boxing fans new this many years ago, Wilder has never learned to box in over 40 fights. For nearly 15 years at pro he still can’t box. Him and his fans think it’s all about a big punch. Wilders fans are not boxing fans, they are casuals and now Wilder has fought a proper world level boxer he’s been exposed again for the second time. I really wasn’t shocked tonight. I have been saying for weeks Fury convincingly beat him in the first fight and that was an out of shape 2 year layoff Fury so imagine Fury this time round. Did Wilders fans really think he was going to actually learn to box for the first time in his hole career in this fight camp? Wilder will never learn to boxer. He just relies on that big punch but it doesn’t work on people who know how to box. Welcome to boxing PBC fan boys.

Kace Kay It was over in the pre-fight press conference/shoving match. If you watch it again, when Fury shoved Wilder he (Wilder) had a WTF look on his face that turned to fear. He never felt that from Fury before and wasn’t expecting it. Fury was in his head from that moment on and probably is never gonna get out.

To be fair, look at Fury's record. Outside of Klitchko, which was the sloppiest, and widely regarded as the worst fight in HW championship history with lowest number of landed punches, Fury has fought no one, too. Chisora? He sucks. Agree, Fury is good, but the HW division is top heavy with no depth at all. This isn't the nineties or 70s.

@@Thomas-fk3cw can't compare to the 90s era for sure. Difference is both Klitschko's fought whoever was the best at the time. Wilder has been fighting nobodies, chisora bad and he's best some of the guys Wilders defended his title against. Tells us everything

He is right, though wilders team tried to add some tools, the time frame is so small for wilder to get used to it and get comfortable . Those new skills of wilder needs to be integrated with his muscle memories or else he’ll forget it and revert back to his old style when he get hit. Wilder should have at least fight 2 to 3 opponent first before he face fury.

I can see Tarvers frustration. Reminds of when Rhonda Rousy lost her first fight. She was told by her trainer and everybody around her that she could box. That she was a striker until she fought a real boxer/striker and got stretched. Sparring partners were told not to hit her in the face. Some of these trainers don’t give a damn as long as that one thing works and they don’t learn nothing else. 40 fights and Wilder never polished up his fundamentals. What did they (his team) work on in camp??. I give him his credit for making it this far.

Champ no one can do anything else with Wilder. He's had a very unique career, whereas, he was able to achieve so much, with his punching ability and he didn't have to worry about skills. Deontay Wilder has had his moment in boxing, now it's time for him to find success else where.

it's also that Fury has a size/skill/speed/acumen combo never seen in boxing before and thus presents a problem no opposition trainer has ever encountered. Doubtful the current crop can pose a threat since he's next level and will need a next level guy to challenge him.
