Very good summary. Congratulations! I think both the internalist and externalist views can be convincing. I think for the following reason: The internalist view can be true from a psychological point of view, while the externalist view can be true from a "logical" point of view. The externalists are presumably right in that normative external reasons are conceivable, thinkable: if something is really a value, then we have a reason to follow it, regardless of what desires and feelings we have. However, this is probably not how people work: Rather, they perceive certain values when they desire them or have feelings about them. At least it seems certain that your decisions will be determined by your feelings and desires.

Clear and concise explanations, great video! I also appreciate the timing of this as I have an essay due on this subject in the 2 weeks.

Really well done! Bravo. Bernard not here to see this, but he would tell you that he doesn't want to express the demands of ethics in terms of reasons for action. He is happy to say that what's in someone's motivational set shouldn't be there. And he is happy to say that you should do something you have no reason to do. Hope you are safe at this time. I enjoyed the video.
