Drop the mic moment, if ever there was one. I am satisfied. In as far as it is possible to explain the fundamental question that I remember asking myself as a seven year old, “What is going on?”, Bernardo has done so in this KZbin clip. I could only hope that Bernardo Kastrup will live long enough to receive the Nobel prize that he deserves.

Bernardo is simply beyond any ability of a committee of establishment figures to comprehend - let alone honor with a “cash prize”. Aristotle, Spinoza, Schopenhauer and Heidegger never won any cash prizes (“play stupid games…etc”).

Bernardo reminds me very much of Heinz von Foerster, who was also a computer scientist and a philosophor. He tried to explain the birth of the world through selfreference. He was a radical constructivist, who wasn't radical enough, because believing everything were the result of selfreferential mathematics, he excluded nervous systems, which should do the mathematics to produce socalled "Eigenwerte", Eigenstructures and so on. But without nervous systems everything comes out of nothing, another name for pure consciousness or Brahma. Thank you for this mind-blowing video!

I clicked on this video today April 6th 2023 because this is the first time in my life time I'm 65 that I have seen anybody have the guts to say that the Big Bang is fiction in any way whatsoever finishing up with the video I'm realizing that in this video you have stated at least two or three memorandums of my theory in thinking How the Universe works or how I see the world it's kind of dramatic for me because I have been living in sort of a silent Terror knowing what I see to be real at least for me and now at 65 it's all becoming much much more real and much more objectively real than I thought it ever would be anyway it's an interesting synchronicity at today I see this video and I finally hear many of the perceptions that I have lived for the first time That birth must be secondary to an existence therefore came before this is the perception that doesn't seem to be able to be broken that existence grows all at once you broke so many of those boundaries and yet coming up against the idea of how does existence give birth to itself if it doesn't exist already is a perception not broken it was the same for me it took me awhile until I found the obvious answer for me as I often do when coming Upon A quandary I can't get through or around I tried just accepting it as if it is so and see what happens and in doing so it immediately became very obvious to me probably with the help of one very dramatic dream and other dramatic dreams in my life that the universe and non existence come together and even as I say it it sounds obvious the reason they come together and the reason each are able to exist is because they counter each other or another way to say neither can exist without the other this is why nothing is everything because they both exist due to the fact that they counter each other that they are each other's opposite if you will like wet and dry Water and Air come together because they counter each other basically what I was informed by dreaming and the rest of the way that communication informs is that the counter is the same kind of process it doesn't exist in of itself it is created by the entire process and then the Trinity appears so for each counter that it creates two existences there's also the counter itself which is created that creates the existence for me this makes a whole lot of sense again that may have to do with how the dreams presented it to me very dramatically through images maybe the reason why I feel confident now that what I'm seeing is as objectively Lucid as I can be which is my Mo as a naive regular person who is not a scientist or a physicist in the classical sense however I would end by saying I am a physicist in that I have always believed that living physics is what physics is all about not being figured out or understood but to be lived and grown and created which this video coincidentally spontaneously seen is clearly a synchronicity that has proven many of my live tests that have been going on since I was at least 10 years old the things you say in this video are proof for me that much of what I have been planning doing experiencing this lifetime are not only realities but much more objectively real realities than I expected you literally described towards the end how I have brought about my memorandum for this lifetime and incidentally how you are doing the same and now that the sequencing is coming together towards the end and everything is becoming very real much more objectively real I can say that the structure in architecture that you described in this video are as close to objectively real as we can claimed to be able to know what subjective in the unknown because I think physics is a Living testament to existence not to be figured out but lived I also decided awhile at some other now that the reason for physics being a living existence or a living mathematical problem as opposed to a fabricated is it it's a different view for every existence just like all existence so I will never see an absolute for physics the opposite for me that for every existence they get to see a beautiful view of physics through their perception and it's all those different views that make physics physics I see us as the many eyes of physics along with everything that makes up our environment not just our eyes the trees the water Etc finally you described in this video so eloquently how past future as we refer are non-existence or better uexpress very succinctly how the difference between now and the non-existence of past future that we refer to all of the time and it is here that I found the concept of the counter it's only just recently that the I-ching reference I I read for over 50 years I now understand how well it explains what you eloquently explained that it is in the penetration of the now in which we are able to realize forward and back forward and back does not objectively exist that's clear but for us it exists when we penetrate the elements of second the term penetrate used bye the I-ching is accurate however for me it's easier to use the word dilation or expansion in that I think penetration works but beyond that there's an expansion of the now kind of like riding the second a riding of the wave you so succinctly Express how you can't pick up the wave and put it in your testing machine but we can become the wave or ride the wave and note that's without a machine and it looks like in doing so our frequencies the faster they are the better we can penetrate the now and expand the time and or space or the absolute which is the now and create therefore what would look like a forward and back and incidentally a lifetime or two and many other diverse perceptions this is finally becoming more real for me the hardest part for seeing a whole lot has been eliminating conditioning and so my new term is now to just say another now and to never use those other terms anymore so that I can see more realistically the patterns I'm looking for another now no such thing as before which incidentally would mean the big bang and anything else that supposedly has happened is actually happening now and as I add that sentence I realize that's also a presentation of 2 counters coming together all existence and no existence and it's still after except by expanding and riding the wave for a few instances if this theory of mine is true it looks like then the faster frequency which is riding the wave would be able to ride a wave that objectively in the time and space where it is it is only an instant but the faster frequency riding the wave would be able to penetrate the instant and expand the Rhythm the time temporal of that wave and be able to do something like live inside the second of the wave at faster frequencies and therefore much longer timeline along with this video and other synchronicities in nearby seconds as I mentioned I clearly see the counter in the I-ching expression of penetrating the absolute second to create or see forward and back therefore the second and its existence which is expansion create forward and back and therein is the to opposition's and it's counter however in this way the counter looks backwards because the two opposing counters to now which is forward and back are creating the now we're in my other description of the two existence that come about together and in doing so create the counter so this looks like the second is a counter to its own infinity I am now convinced that what we see as spontaneity is all synchronicity I am also convinced as of this second today that the eating is the best representation of the DNA Helix and physics and therefore must also be a representation of the Beyond

I live in that la la land you mentioned. When I woke up and saw this process of constant unfolding out of nothing, the only words I could put together to describe what I had seen and understood was “reality is constructed by narrative” No matter how many times I say this, nobody understands what I’m saying at all. Evolution is a process of the Universal Mind trying to know and understand itself by manifesting a multitude of minds through which to think and perceive itself. When the Buddha talks about craving as “the builder of this house” he is referring to this universal desire to know Self. His answer is to give up that struggle and to be satisfied in this awareness unconditioned by that craving: we are the universal mind striving to give up the search, to realize its own true nature is enough as it is

I have two thoughts after watching this video. 1. I'm not sure what he means when he says that our planet/galexy is nothing special. Compared to what and on what metric? This is a question of meaningful value and since we are beings of meanings and values that observes the universe with our minds, surely that makes earth especially important? The same could be said about his idea that we are very young. Again... Since it is through consciousness that we experience time, young compared to what? 2. With regard to his point that there is no past, present or future (which is amazing how he links it with a constant big bang). I don't believe we live in moments or points in time. We live in narratives and we make our meaning through narratives. Our memories are constructed in narrative both individually and collectively and this is how we are able to understand our place in time

How does something come out of nothing? What does 'come out of' mean? What does beginning mean? What is something and what is nothing? These are all mental concepts used to assemble our mental models, but they have no 'real' meaning. They only have meaning as a concept, relative to some other intangible concept. The very experiencing of now, the awareness of being, is all that reality is. All those concepts arise out of and into that awareness... dissolving at the very moment they appear to form.

I disagree with idealism. The one everything is all there is and it is what you and I are. This is nondualism at its finest. There is a fact about whether the universe is aware of anything without minds that evolved in it. The non-dual aspect is a thing either way. Consciousness is entangled into everything at this point. The reality is a seamless whole according to the evidence.

An excellent journey of the mind that Bernardo takes us on here. It keeps reminding me of the first time a mind begins to contemplate the origin of everything in a hypothetical simulation. From this one could ask the question, is there perhaps a higher level that is responsible for the origin of our existence? Whatever the answer, there would have to be an origin plane. Which brings us back to the original question and that brings my mind to explotion.

Mind opening discussion … thank you Bernardo for going into details and opening up this topic. One question comes to my mind: if humans and Earth did not exist, could an entity say that graciousness, kindness or mercifulness still existed? Online sources say no, these are human constructs. Is it though? If and only if we could prove those qualities can exist without earth and without humans, then one might find an spontaneous reason behind the creation.

What if the riddle is projected by the universe through itself to us which is it, and the experience of solving the riddle is not a mystery to the universal mind but the most meaningful or joyful experience of the universal mind. So it’s reliving it (all the time).. continuously like We see in each other when we as 50,60,70year olds try to hang onto the joy of our youth. The experience of love seems to be at its core, I say that in order to make sense out of suffering… which seems to be either an unavoidable side effect of existence in this experience or the contrast necessary to enrich the experience of love because it’s the ultimate meaning and most joyful state of being the universe knows 🤔

Considering what we are actually made of, maybe we’re asking the wrong questions. We are already apparitions, forms in a dream whose composition is of the same character as a pixel in a projector, or a character in a dream. What it is is a shadow of reality entangled with reality. “Crazy Horse went into the world where there is nothing but the spirits (great mystery) of all things. That is the real world that is behind this one, and everything we see here is something like a shadow from that one”-Black Elk

"Useful fiction" or the best answer we have at the moment. It would be awesome if someone, the next Albert Einstein, finds a more satisfying answer.

The mind is a relative tool. The closest it will ever get to 'understanding' the absolute, contained within the nothingness of now, is allegory. The tool for appreciating the absolute is pure awareness, the knowingness that merely knows you are experiencing this now.

Again Sir, You have a talent of clarity and use of words. I've come of understand that, one can never get there through the intellect. And by that token, there is no "There" to get to, because no distance can be traveled. Thanks

Very interesting and suggestive. I would "quibble" with two points. First, since by hypothesis, consciousness is fundamental and constitutive in some manner, of all existence/reality/being, call IT what you will, it must, virtually by definition, be completely self-sustaining, uncaused (which is really all that the phrase, 'self-caused', really amounts to), hence, no beginning or ending. The phrase, 'it comes from nothing, is quite misleading since nothing comes from nothing because, again, virtually by definition, nothing doesn't exist. There is no nothing. That's why it's called, 'nothing'. There is only the constantly creating plenum. But, you might object, doesn't creating bring new things into the world? Isn't that bringing something out of nothing? I would say, 'No'. For example, what I just wrote, right or wrong, is a creative activity bringing something new into existence. But it doesn't come from nothing. To think that it does is not an adequate intuition of how creating works. I will just add that the idea that the now can be symbolized adequately as an infinitesimal point seems like an artificial intellectual abstraction rather than an experiential reality. Our experience is essentially historical, and if we want to call the shortest possible experience a singularity, that's ok, but remember that the shortest possible experience necessarily has a past, present, and future within it. Or, as Aristotle might have said, a beginning middle, and end. And, as Bergson might have said, don't try to understand that fact with your analytic tools. Intuit/experience the living duration which constitutes your actual living, conscious experience.

This has left my every cell tingling... the :"distress" of the universal formless mind that doesn't understand iself - wow, that doesn't even need proof .... just recall the slight disorientation of a deep silent meditation and feel how the words resonate. Sir, I salute your clarity, simplicity and candour.

Ancient wisdom eloquently transferred in modern times. Manvantaras, pralayas. The concept that the reality is not what we see or touch. The unmanifested universe was already there...'all at once'...no big bang that started from a single point. And then 'material' manifestation...occured...what we 'see'...Brahma and brahmá (creative principle). 'With an aspect of myself I created but I remain seperate from it..😊'

A very interesting interview. Thank you. I agree, there is indeed 'tension' informing this universal process, but I don't see it as analogous to some kind of anxiety. It could well be more like the tension inherent in a joke or as in play. Alan Watts said something like 'The universe is playing hide and seek with itself.' So 'Why life?' Why not?

Very interesting! It seems to me that what you perceive is part of you. So, if you just for a moment assume that your body is not only the physical representation of yourself but what you're perceiving is also part of your body. This would is explain why everything comes out of nothing. Meaning without you experiencing now there is no now but in this state you still exist and nothing around you exists. Maybe this is what they mean by samadhi...The realization and understanding of this null state. A crazy outcome out of this assumption could also be that the sphere we see around us could be so due to the way our eyes are built. And if so, what do the sun and the moon mean? What does your existence mean in my consciousness? Does it mean that you are also part of a symbolic representation of the mind trying to understand itself?

12:40-15:35 This! "Mind creates everything out of the nothingness in the present moment. The present moment is a singularity. However small you make it, you can cut it in two: The past and the future. And you can play this game Ad Infinitum. Forever. There is no quantum limit to the present moment. (Well, according to quantum theory, there is a limit, but that limit is minimum amount of time, which you can say that nothing has happened. There is a technical definition of that, but forget about it, it's a diversion.) What I'm trying to suggest, that if you think carefully about past present and future, you realize that non of the three can exist, because the past only exists in so far as you remember it, and you remember it NOW. You can not point out there and say "There is the past", it's not anywhere. It's gone. It doesn't exist. All you have is your memories and your memories are experienced now, they don't exist in the past. You Associate them with the past through your conceptual reasoning. But you only ever have the memories as experience now, there is no past. There is no future either. Where is the future? Point to the future... It's not there. The future is a set of expectations that you experience now. OK, so what about the present? Present exists, because the future and the past are in the present, right? Well...Where is the present? Now? The moment I move my tongue and say "Now", it's gone, it's the past. The present is infinitely small. It doesn't matter how small you make it, you can cut it in two and say "Past and Future". It is not there. And the past with the future are in it. Therefore, everything is in it. Everything is in nothing. There is nothing there, nothing has ever happened. Nothing will ever happen. Nothing exists, nothing is going on. And out of that nothing, EVERYTHING exists. The entire richness of the drama of life. Your regrets, your disappointment your successes, your loves and your heartbreaks. Everything of every living creature in this universe exists in this nothing and that points to this fundamental thing about mind, which is - to exist in nothing." (c) Bernardo Kastrup

I have just 'discovered' Bernardo. Every time he speaks, it feels like an invitation to a place that I know is the Truth. But every time I try to grasp it, it slips away. And then I realize that this very attempt at grasping IS the limitation he's been talking about!
