Some people have been asking how I got down. There's a sort of trail on the other side of the mountain that takes you all the way back to the campsite. It took me 4 hours to get down, and I arrived at the van by 1 AM. But to be honest, that was the easiest part. Please do NOT attempt this route if you don’t have experience-it is extremely dangerous.

I've done this route and every time I watch a video of people doing this they always forget to mention that there is a way down after the second stage. Also, you need a lot of water because a large part is in full sun ! although it gets the highest grade you are protected you only need to keep your emotions in check 😁You did a great job (that last bit gets people every time, I started late just to do the last past in the dark, getting to the summit at night is a sight you'll never forget)

Nice video! I did that Via Ferrata with my girlfriend this summer and I remember that it was really fun in the beginning but later you just hope that it ends soon. We had the same experience when you thought its was the end but in fact you still have about >1h to go... The way back on the glacier is also quite sketch if you don't really know where to go. And of course, it was also too late for us to get the cable car to go down. I guess you'll remember that journey for ever. Congratulations for doing it until the end!

Very well filmed! This is known as the hardest via ferrata in switzerland. As Bernardo mentioned: it's definitively not for beginners. Although it normally doesn't take 12 hours to make it. I did it in 5 hours and I was not fast at all compared to other climbers. There is an exit after the first third of the route (where Bernardo paused in the gras). So if one is not sure to be ready, he can start and decide at this exit to proceed or not. If you don't feel well alone: the via ferrata is crowded during summer season.

Saying that is stupid. Just because you don't know nor understand it does not qualify to make statements on this. I as a fellow alpinist think, it's "only" a via frerata, he can't get lost. It's not ideal to run into the dark, but with proper gear and training, there's nothing crazy about this.

If you are interested in via ferratas, there are difficulty and endurance ratings. The Daubenhorn Via Ferrata is the most difficult level in Switzerland (K6) start with an easy one like K2 or K3 and work your way up. Having experience in rock climbing and mountaineering to me it was great fun, I loved the big cage and actually at the top where you unclipped there is an extra part which is the scariest of them all but super nice if you like the adrenaline kick. Also always start early, you were probably by yourself because everybody else was long gone. But kudos for pushing though 👌🏼

@Sierraalpha21121 күн бұрын
Another tip: Don't position your two clippers in the same direction. One is facing to the wall, the other one in the oposite direction. That prevents that the both clippers are opening when putting on pressure and you're not secured anymore. Also never put your hand on the clips when climbing up/down, just lead the clipper/ carabiner hook on the rope that is connected with your harness.

My friend and I did a Via ferrata in France in July, 75% of it climbed up along a waterfall; you’ve got a climb straight up whilst water runs down the rocks under your feet, and soaking you at every chance. My fear of heights kicked in but I told myself there was no turning back and I powered through and really enjoyed the climb. It was nothing compared to this, but it has given us an idea to do a via ferrata tour next summer - and my eye is on this one…
