A someone who has only ever climbed in the Canadian Rockies I am so happy to see videos like this. We always talk/hear about the Dolomites and the rock they are made from. Wonderful to even know that mountains like this exist and that climbing routes like this exist. Thank you for taking me along on a climb that I will likely never be able to do in person. Some of those spots along the way are absolutely wild.

Fantastic! This one is (still) on my VF to-do list. Also, thank you for using linear view, or corrected in post, instead of the ultra wide fish-eye! It gives a much better perspective of the slope angles and, in my view, doesn't make the experience and views any less dramatic.

Yooo!! Sick video. Me and my partner did this and got caught in a thunderstorm after the massive valley gap. One point my head buzzed!! Absolutely insane experience.. do not advise hahah. The most exposed part was soaking and literally like ice, was insane. And the cross at the top was audibly buzzing from about 20m away haha

Hi Cris! Thanks for sharing this video. We've been there last month and whole ferrata was covered by snow and ice. It was brutal to do it 😂 In some passages we lost the ferrata cable because it was covered by the snow. We came on the top just in time before the closing and take the cable car down. Great to see the views, because we had only mist 😒

Great Vid, well shot! This is one of my very favourite via Ferrate, its so spectacular! Took my 11-year-old son up it this summer, and he LOVED it, loved the difficulty and the exposure. One of the best days of my life was being able to take my boy up it and see him excel 🥲 ***Before I get any hate for taking my boy up, I would say his sister was to come also, but she was sick and stayed in the valley - she was gutted!!😄 - and in all seriousness, they both have a lot of experience in the mountains and this was natural for them***

As a rock climber I always have issues with the lack of climbing in ferratas but this is right up my alley 😁climbing shoes and chalk should be part of your gear. How far apart are these ferratas ? is it possible to have a "base camp" and do them from there or do you need a car to get from one to the other (or maybe public transport ?) Great exposure 😎

Great via ferrata thanks for showing. Here's some point for you to consider, from someone who has done a fair few. To just start your week on a very long fairly intense one of which the first 1/3 doesnt seem to have great foot holds tiring you out quicker, plus one with lot's of exposure (which you said isn't your strongest point) doesn't seem such a good idea, a shorter easier one after a year nothing is what I have learned works better, then later in the week go for the harder ones. How were your hands after a long day of cable hoiking, blistered nicely? Do wear gloves and enjoy those fantastic Dolomite ferratas even more

No. While the CLIMBING part will be easier, the walking part will be a lot harder. Clibing shoes have no tread and will easily slip on grass and loose ground. Plus, they're rather uncomfortable and your feet will hurt after doing 3,4km of distance and 1000m of elevation gain in climbing shoes. Approach shoes or light mountaineering boots are more appropiate. They climb noticeably better than normal hiking shoes without sacrificing walking ability. Climbing shoes on via ferrata are only useful in vers specific cirrcumstances. On a really hard via ferrata that is really just climbing (without alternating walking and climbing sections like on this one) and where most footholds are bare rock, it might make sense.

@@christinamartini2279 Thanks! Yes you can but it takes you to another side (I'm not sure exactly where). I took the scree because I wanted to get back to my car which was at the Dibona refuge. To be honest I didn't know how bad the scree actually was, it was probably the worst I've ever been on 😂

Made it in 2009 ... I think. It was a single place where I was a little bit scared. I had to cross a big rock, it was very exposed. I dont remember it was hard, but was very long.

Uhm. Wrong ferrata tactics, wrong ferrata technique, lack of ferrata equipment (gloves, rest loop)... What might get wrong? Were you deliberately looking for ways to make your life and climb harder than needed? And what are those grades, 5c and so? Are you trying to apply French sport climbing grades to ferratas?

Very strange that people showing via ferrata on KZbin, use the wrong technique. At least, not how they learned me to do it. When you clip, one clip needs to have the opening towards you and the other away from you. You always clip with the opening away from you. Why is that?
