My name is Bernd Skorupinski. I am the FTMO ALL-TIME RECORD holder. I am featured 120 times on the FTMO leaderboard in only 1 1/2 years. I made over $170,000 in the past 5 months trading with FTMO. In this video I wanna talk about how I became the #1 trader for the biggest forex prop trading firm in the world. In fact, I was not only #1 trader on the global leaderboard in one month. Actually, I was #1 in November, December, and January. Just fyi the global leader board resets after each pay out, consequently you have to climb up the ranks every single month.

What is the advantage of still trading with a prop firm? Someone being that profitable with a large account could make even more money trading on their own, no?

The advantage for me is that I have the QR codes on the FTMO certificates, you cannot fake them, so I can proof, unlike all those other "youtube gurus" that I actually can trade consistently profitable. It's an industry benchmark, noone else can provide.

regardless of consistency there will always come a time where people can hit a slump or the market creates an event that can be unprecedented where you can be caught on the wrong end. The trading pop-firm allows you safety with your finances since the most you'll lose realistically is your fee for the account you have acquired. If you're as consistent as you have been performing then you won't have any worries about acquiring another account of a similar funding amount instead of upfronting that kind of money yourself. The other advantage is you can be more disconnected to the funds mentally which will impact you less as you trade and stick to your plan

So the platform is called “Tradestation” (also the broker name). They have their own coding language which is called “easy language”. All our tools are coded with this language. We use Tradestation only for analyzing the charts. It‘s our own proprietary forecasting tool. Developed in-house. And Campus students can get access to it.

What's your risk management like from challenge to live trading?

Good question, will cover this in one of my next videos. But generally speaking if you have to achieve 10% in a challenge I would recommend taking 2% risk per trade. In the funded stage I would go down to 1% in the beginning.

Do you have a usual set number or ratio between two numbers for you X leverage in trades? I just listened on a podcast you did on titans of tomorrow which was really interesting, thank you! Something you didn't talk about then was if you make a trade, what leverage do you usually have? Or between which ratio of leverage do you have? To take risk but at the same time have a proper risk management in your trading. Cus even if you only trade with 1% of your portfolio the risk will aslo depend on how much leverage you decide to have in your trade. Cus your stop-loss buffert will differ depending on how much leverage you have. Right?

Hi TradingAK. That's a very complex question, that I am unable to answer in a few sentences. But for the market timing yes I use multiple time frame analysis - top to bottom approach - monthly, weekly, daily / 240min chart. Stop Loss is based on the zone I find. Target is based on the opposing zone and our proprietary forecasting tools.

Am I missing something ? I allways thought ftmo just didn't work with swing trading stocks but I saw a video from you where you took a AAPL swing trade.....

@@benobrien1701 yes you can swing trade and the swap is stock dependent. Google has high swaps for instance. BABA almost none. Overall it’s manageable and not that big of a deal.

@@lacitycapital you cannot obviously. We use TradeStation for analysis only. Reason being: We can analysis the underlying asset (futures) to trade the derivative (cfd). And our proprietary indicators are coded with easy language which is the coding language of Tradestation.

I think I have to do a youtube video about this topic. It's a FAQ. You cannot trade based on lot size. You have to define your $ risk or % risk based on a zone you trade (Entry - Stop). $/% risk determines lot size. Never the other way around.
