I’ve been trading on and off since 2015. I finally picked it back up a month ago. I needed a break to clear my mind. Then I heard about getting funded and I really went for it. I haven’t taken the challenge yet, but this week I profited 30% on my 100k demo with 1% risk. Barely any draw down on my wins and 1k max losses. This result is quite amazing. Weldone Paul! So I did a little analysis based on Paul's result and here is what I found out and it is most likely how he also was able to achieve this. if you had a 300K account (like he does) and you took the total of 383 trades (like he did) and you had a win rate of 22% (like he had) to achieve the result of aprox 168% profit like he did, all you need do is risk 0.1% per trade targeting 20R trades. Often times what gets we traders trading prop firm accounts is that we exhaust the loss thresholds of these accounts before our edge can play out in our favour. Paul simply reduced his risk to the bearest minimum and took a shit ton of trades to enable his edge play out. from His average loss of 339.09 (aprox 0.11% risk per trade) it is obvous he was risking 0.1% per trade Dude took a total of 383 trades and was risking about 0.1% per trade, had a 22% win rate and ended up with a 168% profit in one month. above everythinng else he applied a robust risk management strategy that gave him this resounding win.

I disagree. Telling by how he doesn’t say how much he risks. I think he is risking quite a bit by his FTMO trade history. Appears to be scaling into trades that move in his favor before getting a big move. Looks like he takes profits on some to pay himself and let the rest run. Well said Chuks and thank you for breaking it down for us. You are right as I have been able to grow my $100,000 demo account to $102,159 in one month. When I tried to take almost as many trades at the same 0.01 level with my live account it didn't fair as well so I adjusted the settings on my software for my live account trades. Also, I wouldn't dare trade currency pairs on an account with less than a $100,000 balance and even then I just trade the CHFJPY at 0.01 and not more than 0.03. Drawdown is the real enemy of a retailer's trade next to greed!

@@callmebix SMC itself is completely fine, it's just basic price action with different terms. I myself trade in a very similar way. So the style works imo. The issue I have is all the fake gurus claiming to "trade like the banks" or whatever marketing slogan. It's a style of trading I associate with grifters who can't actually trade. For instance, people like ICT blow accounts and fake withdrawals yet claim to know special secrets that separate them from the retail crowd. It's just all nonsense. Keep at it though

Wrong imo opinion..... Don´t go into challenges thinking/forcing yourself that it will change your life. It COULD, and CAN, but to eliminate the emotional pressure I suggest to just seeing it as ¨one trade¨. If you pay 600 usd for a 100k challenge, just think of it as a potential small $600 loss. I did 4 challenges, failed them all because i put all this pressure on myself because ¨it´s live changing¨. Then.... I just thought about it as a minor investment, my confidence exploded, and I passed 2 in a row without any problems.

The bit about looking up the CFTC numbers is fascinating and something I would never have thought of. I wonder, though, if it tells you more than multiple timeframe analysis...if you're looking for trend direction, wouldn't that carry as much weight? Maybe not...I guess this is like reading the tape/Level 2 in stocks.
